yes he will be a contender.Give him a good car and a good crew and you'll BE SURPRIZED what he can do. His age has nothing to do with his winner. HE IS HEALTHY THAN GUYS HALF HIS AGE.

You know, I am really surprised how little anyone wants to talk about Mark Martin. He is doing incredible this year. I found thread last week and posted congrats on it, and nobody really says much. It is strange. I wonder why?

He'll be a racer not a chaser. It's hard to get excited about a guy who has 900 starts anyone with that much experience should win. He's the most over rated driver alive.

I think JBs' overrating percentage has dropped a lot recently, but I will never stop cheering for him. BTW, how are you doing tonight sweetie?

Mark does not have over 900 CUP starts.
And by your standards, Micheal Waltrip should be winning races...Daryl, Bill Elliot, Terry Labonte should have set the racing world on fire in their old age with all the experience they had. Get real.
He is good, damn good, if he wasn't, why would the Hendrick's driver line up vote to boot a "young gun" in favor of the old man.
You can't really say much to dispute the fact, Mark is with a Crew Chief with whom his only experience prior to this year was 2 Nationwide starts. With zero testing, other then the tire test at Vegas, and already has as many wins by himself as, the rest of the Hendrick org. by himself. I only wish he could have been in A hendrick car 10 years ago. Equipment goes along way. Not saying he had bad stuff a Roush, I just believe Hendricks stuff is a notch better.
