Tony Stewart says that DEI will become a musuem, and you're not gonna side with your favorite driver? And you call yourself a fan!
Yes, I do call myself a fan...one with a brain and the ability to cut through all the media hype and Jr. Nation soap opera BS. Tony can wheel a car like no other, but he has also made statements in the past that have made him want to take back things he never stole..LOL

<quoted text>I don't know? Kerry and his boy recently signed with DEI. Kerry in a management and car testing position and Jeffrey as a developmental driver. They say he is a very good young driver too. Junior signed a 5 year deal at HMS and that gives him time to build JRM up into the cup series. This is playing just like what SR did while driving for Childress. In 5 years he might want to finish out his career in his own cars. Ya never know. Also, I wonder how much of the decision making at DEI is being done by Teresa's boyfriend Menard. I have heard rumors that he wants control of DEI and just might get it.
I have heard the same about Jeffrey but Kerry probably needs the job! I really doubt she makes any of the day to day decisions,I really don't think she cares that much about the team beyond the money she makes.

I don't think so , he wants family involved with his company just like his daddy.People he can trust and he definately has that in Eury Sr.

I read on espn.com that Eury Jr has been in contact with Rick Hendrick, nothing definite, but Eury Jr has told Hendrick he is very interested in goin to Hendrick Motorsports. If Jr wants him, then he'll get him. Im not saying i agree with it, cause in my personal opinion, i say leave the 5 car the way it is, same crew chief, number, sponsor, everything, and just change two things, the drivers seat and the name above the windows. I dont blame Eury Jr for leaving, but i dont agree with kicking Gufteson to the curve just cause Eury Jr wants to move with Earnhardt Jr. Eury Jr needs to be put with his daddy at JR Motorsports with his dad, maybe as crew chief of the 88 Busch car and move Wes Ward to a second team whenever one gets formed.
I will have to disagree with you here. The driver and crew chief chemistry is important and if Jr and Eury think they have it, then they should stay together.

Maybe if Tony does go, they wont yell at each other and cuss each other out so much at Hendrick! lol Who knows!

Ya sure got that right! Jr is loyal to a fault to his family members. Theresa just watches the $$$.

<quoted text>I agree! I also wonder what the relationship is between Junior and Kerry. You don't hear anything about it and never see them together. Kerry signed his and his sons' deal while all the Junior contract stuff was going on. I also wonder how Kerry and Teresa get along. How do you think Kerry likes taking orders from a no racing hack like Max in the shop his dad built. If I were him I would have asked Junior for a job at JRM and the hell with Teresa. Those kids of Srs' need to stick together. Junior will take better care of him than Teresa will.

This is just the beginning of a great future for Jr. Theresa Earnhardt will never be poor, however, made the biggest mistake of her life not giving him what he wanted. I hope you rot Theresa.

Read today at jayski.com that Max Siegal has said that Paul Menard and Menard's sponsorship will be back, despite the rumors that John Menard was lookin to take his sponsorship, and son, elsewhere such as Penske or Robby Gordon Motorsports. So they have Truex Jr, Bass Pro Shops, and the Menard's back, but they still havent got Bud and frankly they probably are having a tough time convincing a marketable, talented driver to come over to DEI. I think they will lose Bud, they wont find another sponsor for the 8 car, and will end up possibly letting Jr get the 8 number and transferring the owner points of the 8 car to the #15 and they will go back to a two car organization. And if that happens, they will continue to go downhill. Sorry, DEI is just not on par to persuade a top driver to come to their team. They couldnt get Biffle and even though they are still on Kyle Busch's list of teams, i think he might be more impressed elsewhere, especially Gibbs. If Menard and Truex is DEI's future, DEI's future is very bleak.
I think Max is blowing smoke, because I bet they haven't got a clue who they will put in that car. Have they replaced Tony Sr yet?

Yes, Tony was an easy replacement...

From Jayski:

DEI hired Kevin Buskirk to lead its test team. Buskirk, who had been an engineer and crew chief at Robert Yates Racing, replaces Tony Eury Sr., who left to join JR. Motorsports.

<quoted text>I can't confirm it for sure. I have heard it quite a while and with Paul Menard driving one of their cars I believe it. I don't think Menard should be in a cup car. He has never won a thing. I don't think he ever even won a Busch race. I really think there is something to the Teresa and Menard rumors.
Menards has a few bush wins...And finished among the top ten in points in his 2 years of busch...So he does belong in cup...he would have been 2 years top 5 in busch points if cup regulars were not there...menard is just not the lucky guy...first year in cup as dei 3rd team...he gets all the left over stuff...not 2 mention all the commotion thats been going on at DEI last few years...Menard will be okay...you have to look at the whole picture b4 u comment...Menard has some talent...they need to give him better stuff...Plus dei has never had 2 cup cars run competetive at the same time...Over the last few weeks they have had 2 strong cars...Dei has never been a competative team...so menard really wont shine until they come together...Dei was looking up...Jr had 6 wins in 04...Then she made her first ceo decision 2 split up teams...Been painful 2 watch ever since...Menard has talent...Not tons but enough to be a competative cup driver...maybe score a few wins...even kyle petty won a few

DEI will not fold.Jr had every right to be PO'ed over the way things are run there.DEI has to be the premier team for France due to its history.Any banner of so called minority integration would be carried by DEI,most likely at Francxes request.
If you think otherwise, look at whos running Global Operations for DEI......You tell me why ,out of all those people who at least had SOME racing experiance,Siegel was picked? What could a recording agent possible bring to the NASCAR table? When Teresa Earnhardt made that move, all the while knowing who should have a piece of the pie also,it had to have scorched Jr tail to no end.How do you think he would feel.
That was the beginning of the end to the contract Jr had with DEI.
Truex will stick with DEI and my money says the replacment driver will be a minority reguardless of ability.

Well, it hasn't been working so far! Who's to say that this is not the problem?

Hi mrbreeze, i would tend to think that you wont start seeing real results for a few weeks, but they also need a driver in the car more than 2 weeks at a time! I think the move will pay off next season if they can get someone behind the wheel.Kesolowski??think that was how it was spelled!lol

You know Smoke, I am confusing Sr. with Jr., duh! I agree Sr. will probably be great in time. I mistakenly "assumed" we were discussing Eury Jr.! I was referring to the relationship between the two JRs', and how it hasn't worked so far. I think Earnhardt Jr. should see how he and Alan (sp) Gustafson get along before bringing in Eury Jr. Sorry for my mistake.

I have to agree with you. I think if things were to align right, and there was a way Jr could get in the 5 car early, i think they could run Alan and Jr the rest of this year together and it'd give them an idea if there was any chemistry, and if there wasnt then bring Eury Jr in starting the 2008 season. But i dont think Jr would leave, unless he misses the chase this year cause it's his last opportunity to get a championship for his dad's company. I know in the past when Jr worked with other crew chiefs, it didnt work, but they were shitty crew chiefs, well, all except Steve Hmeil, but they knew that was temp solution. I think Eury Jr is a fine crew chief, i just dont think it fits very well for him and Dale Jr.
That would be ideal if JR could come to HMS now, but, I think we both know that's not going to happen.
I think Gustafson is pretty darn good, especially considering who is driver is, lol.
I listen to the driver/crew chief feeds on sirius radio and both JRs' seem to bicker a lot! I couldn't function at my best when someone is constantly scolding me. That's just me, though.
