<quoted text> how laong has it been sence mark martin has won no one will ever be the right driver for #8 but DALE JR.
Considering Mark Martin, has been in Nascar something like 27/28 yrs and has 35/37 wins and Jr has been driving how many yrs? 17 wins ? well lets wait til Junior has another 20yrs and then lets compare he/mark! I'm not trying to dis Mark at all ,But I'm damn sure not gonna take anything from Jr to pat him on his back either! Thats what people need to look at is wins, yrs of a driver before compairing. JMO

Dale jr should have been allowed to take the #8 with him seems how that number first belonged to his grandfather Ralph Earnhardt and to have someone else drive it is just wrong I think DEI is just being selfish
I argee ! But, now he also gets a fresh start on his own, "08" will shine!! I am very happy he will be with 2 of the best! As i'm sure most had to hear that statement during last nights race when the announcers said 4 of the "BEST DRVERS IN THE WORLD" are racing hard 8/24/48/20..And I agree with em. Junior gave it his all for us last night! His loss was'nt his fault ,that sure looks odd only jr engines ??? strange i'd say.

I could only wish he would have put the driving power in ALL the races as he did last night.

THe Earnhardt Legacy Mark? Sr. got the #8 specifically for Jr. The Step-mom should have done the gracious thing, right or wrong, and let Jr have the 8 his father gave him. And as for Childress, maybe while he's recovering from his facework, he should think about the same thing with the 3. He protects that number becasue of Sr., he should have advised the Step-mom to protect the 8 with Jr. Either a number has no meaning or it is associated with uniques drivers. Childress and teh Step-mom want it both ways.
I agree, the #8 is nothing without Jr. I can't help but feel that Mark Martin should have stood
up and just said "No". If everyone had refused to drive the #8 out of respect for the Earnhardt family, then Teresa would maybe have figured it out.

I used to like Mark but now I'm sick his wishy washy kumbaya stuff for DEI. How many championships has he won that makes him all that much better than Junior? Oh, none....sorry to point that out to all you MM worshippers and Junior bashers.

Junior said it best when someone asked him if they were putting pressure on poor Mark to drive the 8...he said Mark wouldn't do it if he didn't want to.

The kid was on a mission last night! He can't drive what he does't have they have given him nothing but crap all yr! come on now the darn boy had points deducted and now 6 poofed engines. I can't take anything from Juniors effort this yr considering what he had to work with.I think he has done rather well myself. Enjoy you're day.

I just felt he was in some sort of personal slump (might be because he was fighting the decision to leave DEI) I just don't feel he was doing HIS best regardless of the cars he was given. I will always be a die-hard Earnhardt fan. If Kerry ever decided to really make a career of it I will back him also. I hate Teresa has become the moneywhoremonger and control freak she has. If it were all about business I could almost understand but it's beyond business when it comes to her.

Keith, that makes two of us ! So how did ya think he did last night? I was so proud of him. He is such a great person,to carry the name that he does , and still remain so laid back, and not act as though, he is better than anyone else... that really amazes me.,You know, some would use a name like his to the fullest to get what they wanted ,but not Junior! he!! i could go on forever about that kid.

I in no way shape or form have a problem with Mark.
JR has 17 wins in 7 years in the cup series give it time JR will surpass MM in wins. But to compare the two at this point is to compare apples to oranges. For those that say jr does not have a championchip well the great MM does not either , so i guess MM is not a great driver and has no legacy with the 6 and the only reason i say that is because of the people that say the same about jr.
