The number 8, did not accomplish squat in 10 years of racing! MM does not have to live up to nothing! it is the other way around! Y'all have no respect for the history of NASCAR, you just see what Hollywood has made for you in the form of Dale Earnhardt Jr, you bought it hook line, crazy!!

I agree that MM (or anyone for that matter) can't do any worse than Jr.did, but it will surprise me if Jr. does any better driving for anyone.

That's point I've tried to make from time to time what happens if Jr. doesn't do any better at HMS, then what?

Who's fault will it be then, what excuses will he/Jr. fans make then?

Will it be Rick's fault or maybe JG or JJ because they get the "good" equipment.

This is what I see as the future of Jr.

1. Jr. wont do any better than in prior years.

2. Tony Eruy Jr. will be fired.

3. Team members (from 24 and 48) will change to 88.

4. Internal battles will take place between the 24, 48 teams and the 88.

5. Excuses will fly.

4. Team mem

2.

1. yes, he will.2. He should be fired. 3. Never will happen. 4.Just with 48. 5. Jr can't make excuses, even with all the pressure being put on him by France and Nascar. The other 2 I don't understand. He will win a few races.

What excuse will you make, or rather, what excuse are you making now, when Jr does do better?
And don't expect too much ut of DEI anymore,Jr won avasy majority of their wins nd now that h is gone I don't see more than 1 or 2 wins a year there, if that much.
Sit back, enjoy your crow, and think up some good excuses.

MM (2008)- 24 races had 4 top 5s and 11 top 10s

Jr.(2007)- 36 races had 7 top 5s and 12 top 10s

MM stats are almost identical as Jr. in 12 less races.

Not really a good comparison due to the fact that Jr had 9 DNF's with 6 of those being caused by engine failures and MM didn't have any blown engines. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

Don't get me wrong I like MM and I think he did an awesome job in the 8 car. In fact if he had run the entire season I think he would have made the chase without batting an eye. I also feel he has what it takes to contend for the championship in the 5 car this year.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year Jim.

I took only the races that MM raced in 2008 and the same tracks that Jr. raced in 2007.

MM had 4 top 5s and 11 top 10s
Jr. had 3 top 5s and 5 top 10s

Blown engins is part of racing so they do factor into comparisons. This new comparison is apples to apples or oranges to oranges is you prefer.

I had a GREAT Christmas and New Year, hope you had the same!

Sorry Jim.. not trying to ignore you... just been too busy to play with topix... I guess that kind of makes it more "apples to apples" or "oranges to oranges"... Only 1 little tiny difference. MM picked what tracks he would be racing at and picked his favorite tracks... doesn't make much of a difference but I guess just enough to make it "fuji apple to granny smith apple" :)

Have a great day!!
