Guess I don't unnderstand how NASCAR can boot Robby from a Cup race after an incident in Busch race. They are two separate series. But, everyone has always said that NASCAR is a dictatorship. Wish I could run my business that way.

Right or wrong, this is NASCARs game and thier rules. A black flag is what it is. Ignore it and you pay. I don't feel sorry for Gordon a bit.

NASCAR brass and officals are ruining this series. Drivers are not allowed to do anything anymore on the track. The might as well just choose who is going to win and Choreograph the every race. Robby Gordon did not anything that Dale Sr wouldn't have done.

I thought the same thing. Two years ago when Carl Edwards and Dale JR got into in the Busch Race at Michigan. Carl was put on probation in the Busch series and there were no repercussions in the cup series.

The drivers have a NASCAR license, not a Cup or Busch or Truck license exclusively. I can promise that Gordon will think twice before he pulls something like this again. I'm waiting for the Tuesday announcement of further punishment. And there will be more to come.

DOES IT MEAN ANY THING THAT ROBBY WAS SPUN OUT DURING A YELLOW FLAG ! IT SURE SEEMS NASCAR IS OVER LOOKING THIS BECAUSE HE IGNORED THE BLACK FLAG. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME ROBBY HAS GOT THE SHORT END OF THE STICK.

Nascar blew this call royally. It was clear on TV that when the yellow was flying Gordon got sun.

I personally think Robby a complete tool but that doesnt change the fact that NASCAR was flat out WRONG. This is going to make finishing under the yellow pretty interesting from now on since the new rule appears to be you can spin someone out under caution and take the lead with no penalty. Oh and ya gotta love the whole heavy handed approach NASCAR took with him. "We're wrong but you didn't listen so STFU and you're banned" - nice.

my question is how long does nascar give a driver to recognize that caution is out and stop racing to improve their position? If it's immediately, then Ambrose should have been black flagged, not Gordon and Gordon should have been awarded the lead even though he didn't get back to cautious speed until 13 cars had gotten past him...if it's ok to spin someone under caution and get away with it, i'll have to start watching tour de france or somethings else..

First, though not shown on TV, Gordon passed Ambrose under yellow. By Gordon’s own admission, he believes that Ambrose did not spin him on purpose. Gordon has said in several interviews that he slowed and Ambrose hit him. If you can’t keep pace under yellow, you start where you fall back in line. Gordon knew about the black flag warnings and chose to ignore them and took out the leader on the restart.
Today he is paying for the black flag. Tuesday I am sure that he will pay a hefty price for his other actions on track.
Gordon has no one to blame for this but himself. My advice to Gordon is, if he is so unhappy with NASCAR by all means return to open wheel. He needs to quit crying, take what is coming to him, and move on.

IF NASCAR KEEPS HANDELING THESE ISSUES THIS WAY, THE VIEWERS WILL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE JUST LIKE INDY CARS THEY HAVE LOST A LOT OF PEOPLE. SINCE AMBROSE SPUN ROBBY OUT DURING A YELLOW HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN BLACK FLAGED OR SENT TO BACK OF THE PACK. THIS JUST SHOWS THAT NASCAR FAD DAYS ARE NUMBERD IT WILL DISAPEAR SLOWLY.

The rule is a driver has three laps to obey a black flag. Robby was in the lap limit, there was only two laps of racing to go, and if you go to his page and read his statement you will understand why he chose to stay in the position that he felt he should be in. Robby is a great driver and no-one gives him enough credit. He has the nerve to stand up to NASCAR!!

Great Driver!!! What planet do you live on? He has three wins and since going full time his best average finish for a season is only 19.7 in 03. Normally the only time you see him is when he is wrecking. He is a very good R/C driver though. If he would grow up and quit letting his temper get the better of him, he would be a much better driver.....

I'm not a Robby Gordon fan but I think he got screwed by NASCAR! And why did they not let him run the Nextel? The Busch series should have nothing to do with Nextel. You know if it was one of the Golden Boys things would be way different. If it was Jeff Gordon instead of Robby Gordon, do you really think they would have not let him run Sunday??????????
