The closing of Morgan-McClure is just one more in a series of top teams that have had to close the doors because Brian caters only to the biggest and wealthiest teams. The top 35 rule sure is working to perfection . By next year , all 43 cars will be owned by five or six super teams . That's exactly what the " modern era " NASCAR wants , but it sure is sad to think of all the great teams and drivers that have been driven out of the sport by the France's greed and NASCAR oficials incompetence .

AMEN!! nascar has changed too muc(not for the better) in the last 5 years. My guess is if Dale Earnhardt was here today and Nascar the way it is today, HE would be racing elsewhere--"thank you."

NASCAR is really about as legitimate as pro wrestling. Tony Stewart was right, until they muzzled him for pointing out the obvious. When the only competitors are four or five "teams", what kind of "league" is that? Who really cares any more about any of the manufactured drama and intrigue - these drivers are just 43 shades of vanilla.
The COT is further evidence that this is just a homogeneous collection of rich, spoiled "competitors" who, just like guaranteed-contract athletes everywhere, have no financial incentive to care whether they win or lose.
This auto racing is nothing but a made-for-TV joke reality show.
I'm done with it, and I'm amazed that there are actually people out there who give a darn about it.

I agree that there are a lot of "field fillers" out there who seem to be happy if they get a top 10 or top 20. It does look like relatively easy money if you can get your foot in the door and have an image that someone thinks will look good on TV. It's gone from a sport to showbusiness. I imagine the next step is they'll all dump their wives for some Hollywood movie star...then you can add drugs to the mix!!

The sad result of the top 35 rule. NASCAR got what they wanted, guaranteed appearances by the largest sponsor every weekend, reguardless of qualifying performance. Thanks alot Mr Helton.

Who cares about NASCAR or gaz guzzling V-8's as gas goes to $5 a barrel. When Chrysler, Ford and GM go belly up they will all be driving Toyotas. Drill NOW.
