Would be good to hear opinions...should NASCAR be more of a team sport? I'm actually surprised more teams don't use team strategy...

They aren't investigating. They're just saying that, I'm sure.

Come on folks, really, how can anyone be surprised? We're talking about MWR. The biggest cheaters to have been caught in the last 25 years. Of course POS Wallbanger wouldn't answer questions. This is his way every time he gets caught for anything. It was up in the air on whether Jeff was going to make it but Ryan was on his way to the checkered flag had not the order been given to Bowyer. Now, what Jeff and Ryan needs to do is simply take out every MWR driver at least twice in the next 10 races just to make sure none of POS's boys finish higher than 11 and 12. If I was Ryan or Jeff, I would be sweet as sugar in front of the press and I'd eat POS's boys alive on the track.

I think Nascar will investigate fully. They know the sport is in trouble. Heck, we don't see 43 cars competing for a full race anymore. Too many changes over the years. The Chase is one they should eliminate and let the sport decide based on all 36 races. Otherwise we see the same garbage again next year unless Nascar comes down hard. At the very least the field should be expanded to 14 this year with Newman and Gordon part of the chase. I would rather see Nascar taking MWR right out of the chase for the Bowyer garbage. Sorry, Treax, you got caught in the middly by shady radio chatter and shady spin by a teammate. If no changes are made or no penalties for the MWR team and no penalty to Edwards for a jump start, the sport becomes nothing more than a fixed sport and folks will stop watching.

Team strategy is one thing, but Bowyer's blatant cheating is one that cannot be tolerated. This year we have seen Nascar Officials penalizing some and not others. JJ got a pass on his illegal car, yet Keselowski and Logano did not get same pass. 16 illegal cars one week and no penalties. JJ got penalized for jump start, we have to wait and see if Edwards gets the same. Officials need to decide how they plan to execute the rules and do so fairly or face more fan and revenue losses.

That is a great idea, hope it happens that way &#24 wins a race or two. I say go back to the old rules where a driver can win the championship w/o winning a single race OR whoever wins the most races and has best average finish be made champion? Impeach tbe Kenyan-born Antichrist!

I live in Bristol,NASCAR has become a joke, don't get me wrong I love NASCAR but every week it is up to NASCAR & how they feel that week if the want to have the same rules.what needs to be done is send a very clear message. MWR out of the chase for cheating & Ryan & Jeff in.plane & simple.then they will think twice next time.

NASCAR has disgraced my hometrack! That was one of the most pathetic race endings I even seen in my life! Bowyer manipulated the ending by spinning on purpose for sure. Watch the replay & you'll see that Jr. wasn't close enough to bump him or get him aeroloose! Bowyer did that on purpose & if no penalty is assessed I will be severely disappointing!

This really questions my loyalty to this particular motorsport!...

It's messed up, I love watching the races, but the way they are running NASCAR, letting rules be violated by certain drivers, cautions that they can't show reason for, etc. If nothing is done about this I will be the next lost fan. Thankfully it's football season.

What's the big deal? NASCAR is always trying to manipulate the out come of its races; yhat's why it's called WWE NASCAR.

NASCAR was in this circumstance just two years ago when Menard spun out in this very same race two years ago wiping out an easy Gordon victory only to go GWC and Harvick won. In 1995 Hendrick put in an extra car to finish 43rd since Gordon had to finish 42nd or better ensuring JG's title even before Atlanta started.

I seen blatent team cheating in the last 26 years I followed this sport.

I dont think NASCAR can do anything if it is not in their rulebook, they could not penalize Earnhardt for intentionally taking out Labonte in 1999, Dale Jr was penalized for spinning out intentionally at Bristol around 2004 because he broadcast his intent after the fact.

Aside from code words Bowyer nor his CC admitted such and all the race teams hace codes for such situations, proving it is a different story.

MWR and 5-Hour Energy need to invest money in acting lessons. Because Clint Bowyer And MWR associates really stink at trying cover up a cheat. I have been a nascar fan since"Fireball Roberts"until now! Thanks MWR and Nascar it used to be fun except for the last few years. I think I will have my cable disconnected after this!

Nascar needs to take out Clint Bowyer also and put Gordon in!!!
They should have had a restart, even if it was to become a green white checkered, black flag Carl, like they did to JJ earlier this yr and do things right!! If it isn't corrected, I wont watch it either!!

well guess we can go watch Alabama win in football. the nascar should fix all the mistakes. first is take someone out and put jeff Gordon in. we all heard a lot on tv and we saw number 15 spinout and then number 99 in restart just takes off. if that was number 48 they would had made him come to pit road for stop and go. we like nascar and we go to a lot but if this is the way its gonna be well we will let all our nascar fans make up their minds. we wont be back at Talladega no more or any other tracks till nascar fix all this mess up. put jeff Gordon in the chase number 24 should be in and someone out. please fix the mess in nascar now so we can enjoy what we use to watch and go to.now no were to go looks like we lost at nascar what we all loved to be a part of.number 48 number 5 number 88 were is number 24 at ?tell us in Alabama.
good solution to this

I think that I agree mostly...but altering early season races could be argued too...dropping positions at Daytona to pickup teammates, etc
