Earnhardt gearing up to make a run at victory

By the time Dale Earnhardt Jr. reached Victory Lane last season at Michigan, the win seemed as much inevitable as implausible.

Those ragging on Jr are only doing so because their drivers don't get the same attention. Like him or not, without him Nascar will be hurting more than it is now. Face it. We no longer see 43 contenders in any race. Too many teams without money to run full races, etc. The sport is dying a slow death and I think the Nascar powers that be are the biggest reason why. Too many fines and points for stupidity like a part being a trace too light? Post race inspection car too low? Are you kidding me? Too many rule changes. Making all cars the same. Ill conceived race for the chase and the chase itself. Remember Kennseth and the year he won a championship with no race wins? Consistency matters.
Right, because it's a popularity contest...

That's your excuse? I've got news for you, Sunshine: it doesn't make a lick of difference to me if the camera never leaves Jr's car during a race. All I want is for my driver to 1) come home safe and, 2) finish as well as he can. I'm not alone, and I can assure you that if Jr hung up his helmet tomorrow, NASCAR would live on: maybe with fewer "fans", but the important ones, the ones that are in it for the racing and not just because they like to be associated with the "MPD", will stay with the sport and enjoy the racing.

As far as one of your other whack-job theories goes: tell me when there has EVER been 43 contenders in a race. Go ahead and think on it; I've got all the time in the world.

That's ok; I forget stuff all the time. Sometimes drivers even forget where their pit stall is.

Put 99% of the drivers in Sprint, Nationwide, or Trucks in the 88 and they'd be as good or better than Jr

That would be joyful if he won, but he wants to go back to Nationwide and Truck Series.

Hmmmm...no. He said when he doesn't feel the drive and competitiveness anymore he will go to Nationwide, then down to Truck, then Arca....he wants to retire from where he began. Someone wasn't paying attention to his interview.

He/she doesn't have a favorite driver. If you go and click on his username and look at his profile, all of his recent posts are in the Dale Jr. forum. If he had a favorite driver he would spend some time on their forum as well. He's just a hating troll with nothing better to do.

All of you haters don't know what in the hell you are talking about. Do you realize Jr. is 5th in points, with no wins BUT ahead of 6 drivers who HAVE wins??? CONSISTENCY CONSISTENCY CONSISTENCY. Yes, I want to see him win races but he is making a run for this championship whether you little hater-b*tches like it or not. Deuces!!!

You're wrong, but no one is surprised. If you truly had any confidence in your driver, you wouldn't care what anyone said on this or any other forum.

CONSISTENCY CONSISTENCY CONSISTENCY, LOL! Going years without a win is consistency, can't argue with that.
