How many years can MWR say, "this is the year?" without losing all their sponsors?

they can say it all they want. mwr is an amzing team to race for. they just have had some bad luck. but i will bet anyone that 2 of there cars make the chase this year. and if vickers goes full time next year. all 3 will make it then as well. truex has had a bad couple of years, but his finishes are pretty good. 2 six times since his last win and 29 topr 5's. keep in mind he has had a chance to win 10 times since then. but 2 blowin motors and 2 blowin tires cost him those wins.

Race wins is the bottom line. Every week there are drivers with cars capable of a win that don't finish first. At the end of the day Truex hasn't put himself in position to win enough times, put yourself in position enough times and it wins will happen more often. Truex finishes in the top 5 10% for his career. Jeff Gordon finishes in the top 5 42% for his career, Jimmie is 41%. Truex may be a better driver than his race win suggest, but not that much better.

Truex when given a car that is set up great from the start, does a great job. His shortfall is taking a car that isn't setup properly and being able to effectively communicate with his pit crew to assist in dialing the car in during the race. His talent pool isn't deep enough to take a ill handling car and carry it like Johnson or KB can.
