I know that there are still a few Gordon haters out there but how many Sprint drivers do you know that after twenty years of competition in the big league can still be the points leader this far into the season. Just giving credit where credit is due.

Not a hater, not a fan, but I agree with you and he is definitely deserving of that credit.

I've been a diehard Gordon fan since his Silver Crown days before he ever had a NASCAR thought in his head. The first time I saw him in a stockcar was in the Bill Davis Racing #1 Baby Ruth Car at Rockingham. A year later he's in the 24 car for HMS and the next year he's winning the 600 at Charlotte and then the first win at Indy. Now it's 20 years later, he's a four time champ, he's leading the points and has just won Indy for the fifth time. Whether you like him or not, if you're fair minded, then you have to give him credit for being one of the top 2 drivers in those 20 years. He's been a great role model for the sport and through his foundation done a lot for others. He has a beautiful wife and two gorgeous kids so I'm thinking Jeff is much closer to retiring than people might think, especially if he wins the championship this year. But there's a brand new "Boy Wonder" warming up in the Nationwide bullpen. His name is Chase Elliott and he's going to light up the world just like Jeff did

Jeff is still the "Wonder Boy"! Today's Michigan win makes 91. With luck he has a good chance of catching Pearson for second in total Cup wins if he doesn't retire in the next couple of years. Dale Jr. had another good finish at 5th. Johnson pissed of Rocket Man with some of his moves trying to make a pass and I thought he might have to take a butt whipping or use his running skills for a couple minutes but Newman talked it out instead of knocking him out. I can't think of anyone in Cup that would be a match for Neman including Carl. I thought Slice Bread was going to cry when they interviewed him. What a wimp.
