Whether they think he got away with murdering 17-year-old Trayvon Martin or was just a neighborhood watch volunteer "standing his ground," many Americans can't seem to get enough of George Zimmerman.

There's no way that NASCAR did the right thing in this situation.
The guy who started all this was bowyer.
He's still in the chase.
What is right about that?
I think NASCAR will eventually ruin their own sport.it has already made a huge dent in their ticket sells.empty seating, less viewers on tv,etc......
When they made this chase about 12(or I mean 12drivers,plus Jeff Gordon)it really hurt them.now, things are catching up with them and showing how utterly awful they are about making decisions will bite them in the rear.the drivers don't even act the same anymore.all their personalities are gone.they don't even seem to have any zest for this sport left.
So sad to see NASCAR going so low.

Reputation of the sport has been gone for a long time. Why do the officials want all cars the same? Why the chase? Why not shorten the races and let's see the drivers race from beginning to end. And above all, why the lengthy prerace show? Cut the blather to about 15 minutes and get the race going. Also try to be a little more fair. JJ gets a shout out for advancing positions while Jr gets no recognition. Only reason he got any during the race last week was because his engine blew.

That's because jr doesn't do anything impressive on the track.

What NASCAR are you watching? "Jr gets no recognition", Jr gets all of NASCAR's attention even though he does nothing worth mentioning. Fact is, no matter how spectacular the accomplishment of any other driver they hardly get mentioned because the loser Jr is always in the spotlight for being an also ran that never wins. Jimmy Johnson won 5 consecutive championships and yet NASCAR is all focused on Jr...for what?

The reason the sport is dying is because NASCAR keeps harping on Jr. The fans are sick of having a mediocre (at best) driver shoved down our throats and harped-on ike he's some kind of God, while the real talent on the track is ignored. The other drivers are sick of driving their hearts out only to break records, win races and championships only to have their accomplishments ignored because no matter what they accomplish the spotlight is always on Jr who has done absolutely NOTHING to deserve even a mention in the sport.

Jr is over-rated...and he is what is killing NASCAR.

Shortening the races would help. People have short attention spans anyway, and if you drag out a race there's little incentive for drivers to push until the latter end of the race because battling for positions with fourteen hours to go is pretty much pointless. They don't need a ten-hour pre-race show, either, but of course people don't actually have to watch the pre-race if they don't want to. As far as cutting blather, retarded silliness like "Boogity boogity boogity" is just mindless drivel and feels like a parent jangling keys in front of a baby to amuse it.

As far as all cars being the same, there's a bit of a no-win scenario here. If all cars are the same, fans complain about them all being the same cookie-cutter cars, but if they're different then people complain that this car is better than that car. F1 fans are sort of at the other side, where they have actual difference between the cars but complain because one is better than another and want them all the same.

No, it isn't as simple as that.

Dale Jr and the Chase are what has killed Nascar...A lot of Dale Sr's fan base became Dale Jr fans when he passed away hoping that some day he'd be a champion like his father was.

The Chase has kept Jeff Gordon from being a 6x champion like he should be (only 1 away from catching Dale Sr and the King). It has also kept Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick from being recognized as champions period. It has on the other hand allowed Kurt Busch to be recognized as a champion and allowed JJ to be recognized as a 5x champion rather than just a 2x champion; Tony Stewart has an extra championship to his name as well thanks to the chase.

Jr.'s popularity and press coverage doesn't come from NASCAR. The media is the one that keeps Jr. in the spotlight and there is a valid reason for it. He's THE most popular driver. It's as simple as that. NASCAR, the racing organizer does nothing to promote one driver over another, the press does. The commentators on the shows covering the pre-race and race don't work for NASCAR, they work for whatever network is doing the broadcast. If Biffle was the most popular driver, you'd hear a lot more about him instead of Jr. Get use to it Hero, life ain't fair. And start blaming the right people for what you perceive as something wrong.

J R as the most popular driver is a joke. Take the name Earnhardt away from him and he wouldn't.t be driving Sprint cars at all. He is at best a good Nationwide driver. Look at his record in nationwide and view the big difference. At the track he looks so pissed off because he gets asked for autographs.when given an interview he never smiles and shows no emotion. Smile once in a while Dale. Watch Clint Bowyer for a quick class on giving interviews. He always appears to be in a good mood and even enjoys answering the stupid questions asked by the media. How about Clint or Carl Edwards for most popular?

Clint and Carl probably haven't either. Carl is an admitted momma's boy. Never the less, all the whining in the world isn't going to change the fact that Ralph Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the MOST POPULAR person in NASCASR. PERIOD! Guessing or supposing what it would be if it was someone else is not rational. Reality is, Jr. is the man. Nuff said.

I guess he wouldn't have the fans today if he went by his given name. How can you be Dale Earnhardt Jr. When your first name is Ralph?

Who the hell is kelowoski?! Brad Kesolowski had a terrible first 26 races and wasn't even in contention to make the chase. The race didnt alter his outcome.
