OK I looked it up and Scott is somewhat eccentric. Here's the definition I found Eccentric-deviating from conventional or accepted usage or conduct especially in odd or whimsical ways.
He's somewhat odd but more unusual or different, whimscal describes him perfectically. However you spell all that stuff.

I call it like I see it. Has anyone looked at this guy lately, or listened to his interviews? He looks like a gangster type person who is a wannabe NASCAR Driver. He thinks he is already the greatest driver ever, and he demands everyones attention. I think he should give up on NASCAR, this is not the type of "icon" the sport is used to. Go back to F1 you P.O.S.

Seriously man, you're calling him a POS?! Exactly how do you think he's ever come across with attitude? And just because he looks a little different that's reason for you to run him down? Post a picture of yourself and we'll throw in some comments on your particular look. I don't understand on the majority of these blogs and posts the anger than people have towards people they'll in all likelihood never meet or get to know and yet think they know them and have some sort of right to pass comment.Ref you need to grow up and I don't need to know you to know that. Scott Speed is an incredible driver. Yes, he's a bit eccentric, but he will be the new Mr. Excitement. Look for him to make some serious headway into NASCAR in the futre. There are a lot of teams vying for him now. Have you seen his "Milk and Cereal" video on Youtube? LOL.

Go back to F1 you P.O.S. a wannabe nascar driver???? wow in that case he would probalby fit in well, nascar is filled with wannabe's, including most of those who are just basic wannabe racing drivers. But I am interested to know what type of icon is nascar used too? fat boys like Tony Stewart, rednecks like Dale Jr, or foreigners like Montoya.

Okay guys, I understand what you are saying. I based my judgement on one interview I saw with him and maybe I shouldn't have. And when I said "icon", I was surely not referring to some of todays drivers. Redneck Bob, I think I know how you feel about the three drivers you referred to in your post, they are not what makes NASCAR. To Canucken, you don't like the way I judged Scott but you judged me the same way, think about what you said. Maybe you need to grow up also, these forums are for people to post their feelings without having to feel stupid, if you don't like it, don't read it.... I have loved NASCAR all of my life and it is hard to see some of these drivers slide downhill to a NASCAR career when the best "old school" drivers had to crawl uphill to make it. I think others out there will have to agree with me.

If that was the case, half the field would be failures. Everyone gets excited because a driver leads a race for 2 laps in his entire career....wow. It's a zoo. As long as you have some money you can get a ride. That's also crazy.

scott speed has dabbled in F-1 and now wants the far easier nascar to have the privilege of seeing his vast talent. in 2009, scott will win daytona, bristol and indy then pickup sprint cup championship trophy. in 2010, scott will win TOUR DE FRANCE riding a unicycle. bow down nascar fans because the great scott speed to your favorite track!

I have to agree with the Ref on some of his points. NASCAR fans have just in the past couple of years been influxed with wannabees. Scott Speed is just one in this category. I don't think tah redneck Bob made an accurate statement, there are drivers that don't have a lot of money that are trying to compete (David Gilliland, David Ragan, Regan Smith, and on and on) it does not take money to be noticed. People notice driving skills on the track however, they don't know how much money is in their pocket. And as for Leo, stay in Shanghai and worship Scott Speed and while doing so keep hoping for a race near you...
