Ain't that the truth. I think if a team gets caught cheating and wins the race, the winnings should be taken away and given to the second place car.

I've been involved with stockcar racing at the local level and a fan of NASCAR for more years than I care to admit. Fines and docking points for cheating has never solved the problem at either venue. The only thing that I have seen that impacts on trying to push the rulebook is sending a team home. If NASCAR put a stipulation in the their entry form that gave them the right to confiscate a car found to be illegal before or after a race and to send the complete team home without anything to show for the weekend, it would make a real difference. Think about it, the driver would acculate no points, the cost building and bringing that car to the race would be lost, the car owner would accumulate no points, but most importantly, the sponsor would lose his exposure. It wouldn't a case of winning a bunch of money and then giving a little back. Everyone you raced against would gain on you.

There's so many d#$% rules and restrictions on the cars these days that they should just put them on a rail and we can all be hypnotized watching them go round and round.

What I don't understand Kevin Manion was already on probation until Dec 31,2009. Now they say he is fined and put on probation. Hell he was already on probation. Why not kick his ass off the team for a while. The probation they give out must mean nothing.

Your correct Lisa the infraction was caught before he run the race....That makes him 2 really close together and in both series. I know it's not him but his greedy Crew is doing it.....

I've already sent it to NASCAR feedback a half dozen times over the last couple of years. Even call Dave Moody on Sirius one afternoon and explained it. Dave says it wouldn't work because the moment one of the front runners got sent home, his fans and sponsor would raise so much hell so NASCAR would never use it. Years ago at a dirt track not too far from here, I saw the points leader get the win taken from him because his crew got caught trying to add weight to the car before he went to the scales. They disqualified him and threw out his points for the night and it cost him the track championship. He was the crowd favorite but I don't think I ever heard as much cheering as I did that night. I really surprised me. I was sponsoring a street stock at the time and the following season not a single car was caught cheating. That promoter also had a rule that if you hit another car on the first or last lap and passed him, he got his spot back and enforced it.
