Wasnt Newman a big reason that they let Borland go? I heard the two of them were no longer getting along.
As far as Chevy, I completely agree. They had the majority hand in why Tony is no longer a JGR driver and they dont want him to be there for show. Tony said it himself, when JGR switched, Chevy wenty right to him and told him, DONT sign anything.
Wouldnt be surprised if Haas got a bonus for being the one to bring Tony back, and JGR got money from them to let him out early.
I had not heard about the Borland-Newman rift! I thought they were always good together.

Just heard on the news about Ryan. I always believed he would sign on. SHR can pick his engineering brain now! LOL Will he drive #4?
That question may have already been answered, but I don't have the time to back up and read all the posts. Also is the #66 and #70 cut loose?

Donna, this is the first I've heard about Kenny having Touretts. Are you sure? He has no symptons that are visible.

the # 66 and 70 will not be used next year at Stewart-Haas. Tony will drive the #14 and Newman if indeed he is the 2nd driver will be in the #4.

I was sorta hoping it would be Martin Truex. There are gritty drivers and prissy drivers-Newman just seems a little too prissy for me.

In a way I agree w/ you about Ryan. When word got out that Martin signed a 2 yr deal w/ DEI and then Martin said that was not true, I was wondering if maybe he might be coming over. Maybe we will learn something this wkend.

Forgive me for butting in when i haven't read all the posts, but that butthole Steven is supposed to be the one with Tourette's. Have you ever watched an interview with him where he wasn't talking 100 miles an hour and twitching? He scares the hell out of me. I'm so afraid he's gonna wreck somebody seriously. He REALLY should NOT be allowed on the track.

Tony said this past weekend that it was going to be a two car team. no mention of three-at least not yet!:-)

I don't think there was one. Matt Borland was basically forced out by Penske and used as the scape goat for the lack of proformance.

Found this from a old PRN transcipt

#12-Ryan Newman may have struggled through the 2006 Nextel Cup campaign, but he doesn't fault his friend and now former crew chief Matt Borland.
Date on this is Dec 2006.

No sarcasm was there - I just didn't understand your earlier statement "What is possible" and thought that I hadn't copied and pasted your earlier reply - so, when I see that I had - I wasn't sure why you sounded like you were ready to jump at me.
And, trust me you will without a doubt in your mind know when I am being sarcastic. I usually even state that I am being sarcastic.
People are just way too touchy on most of the forums that I have read. Or, they are on many of them starting threads just to get something started. Life is way too short to get into a battle of words on a public forum. If someone is stating their opinion I usually let it ride.
So sorry for being "touchy". Yes, you had copied & pasted my post but the reason I asked you "what is possible" is because your answer started with "That is possible". To me possible implied that you thought "maybe" I was wrong & I would never post something like that, saying a driver has a disease, unless I knew it was correct. You had already ruined a pleasant memory I shared with someone else previously on another thread, so I figured you just didn't like me and even though you had said you would just ignore my posts, which was fine with me, now you were just going to give me crap instead. That's how I took it, if I was wrong, fine.

Anyway, the link didn't work. I read it in an article after I was told about Steve on here. They talked about Kenny's blinking issues, which, you're right, I never noticed either. If I'm wrong, sorry.

Maybe Kyle wouldn't be so hated if he raced clean but when he takes Little E out so blatantly, no wonder he is booed. Besides, he's so arrogant.

I agree that Rusty is almost impossible to listen to - wish they would get a new person to comment.

Ryan said today, during qualifying that he's close to choosing where he's going to drive next year, not that he's already picked a team. Again, the reporter doesn't know what they're talking about!
Thank goodness! Someone who reads the lines and not between them.
Once again, we have a reporter looking for something to write.
Ryan has clearly not said where he is going. Only that he has made up his mind.
The media in NASCAR has become as bad as the media in politics. It's ridiculous.

Newman would be a fool to go with Stewart-Haas Racing if he wants to win races and vie for a championship right away! A new team will take at least 1 season to succeed!
