AIFS Au Pair in Australia makes it simple for you as a family to locate the ideal Au Pair! Here's how it works;

Step 1: Complete the Application
Complete the Application Form with your family details, references and preferred program start date. The completed application pack including the application form, 2 references, photos of your family and the Host Family Essay. The initial application can be completed online or mailed, emailed or faxed to AIFS.

Step 2: Matching an Au Pair with your family
Upon receipt of your Application AIFS will complete a check of references and a member of our Au Pair team will schedule a time to visit your family to hold the Host Family interview.(Telephone interviews are scheduled for families situated outside the Sydney greater metropolitan area).

Step 3: Choosing your Au Pair
At the successful completion of the application and interview, AIFS will send you suitable Au Pair profiles out of our extensive database of available Au Pairs based on your family's requirements. You may select one or two out of these profiles for a telephone interview. Upon completion of the telephone interview with the Au Pair you may either select the applicant or choose to re-enter our selection pool.

Step 4: Finalising your Au Pair placement
If you choose to select the Au Pair, a start date is finalised and an agreement for your family and the Au pair is sent for both parties to sign.

Each month AIFS has at least one scheduled arrival date for Au Pairs commencing the program. For more information on arrival times please click here.

Interested in the program but not yet ready to sign up? Visit our online Au Pair database and check out available Au Pairs' profiles.

AIFS Host Families are required to covers the costs of:

One-way transport from Sydney to the Host Family's home. For interstate families this may include a bus, air or train ticket and any other necessary transfer costs; for WA based host families, AIFS has pre-booked flights from Sydney to Perth at very reasonable costs.
A weekly stipend of AUD$200 - AUD$250 to be paid directly to the Au Pair dependent upon the numbers of hours of work completed - 30hrs - 40hrs/week;
Au Pairs are to be paid $7 per hour for every hour worked above the maximum 40 hours per week;
The weekly stipend is to be paid to the Au Pair during naptime and outing or holidays when the Au Pair would normally be paid. This includes family holidays when the Au Pair in not in attendance;
Inclusion of the Au Pair on the Host Family's automobile insurance;
Full board and accommodation with the Host Family for the duration of the program;
Payment Methods
Payment may be made by cheque, money order, direct debit or credit card. Credit card payments will incur a 2.5% surcharge.

Repeat Family Program
Many AIFS Host Families choose to use our services on an ongoing basis in order to have an uninterrupted level of care for their children. In order to receive $100 discount on a new Au Pair placement, AIFS needs to be notified in writing up to 12 weeks prior to the current Au Pair's working day.

Refer-a-friend - Our Ambassador Program
Are you an existing AIFS Host Family? Refer a friend and if they commence the program you will receive a $50 Coles voucher for every new host family.

Short-Term Au Pair
Many families seek an immediate childcare soltion and this is where AIFS Short Term Au Pair can help. Short Term Au Pairs are Working Holiday visa holders who are already in Australia on AIFS' Work & Travel Australia program. These Au Pairs have childcare experience but are seeking a short term placement. Most Short Term Au pairs can usually start their placement within a few days of being interviewed so are a great option for families seeking immediate assistance.

Unlike the 6 month Program, we do not provide a Federal German Police Check, a medical certificate and reference checks for short term Au Pairs. Au Pairs and they may or may not hold a First Aid certificate. All short term Au Pairs have completed the Australian Working with Children Check.

FEES: Families seeking a Short Term Au Pair will be charged a fee of $275 inc. GST upon confirmation of the placement by AIFS.
