NASCAR suspends Johnson's crew chief six races

NASCAR issued steep penalties against five-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and his team for failing the first inspection for the Daytona 500.

I love it, they deserved the penalites but Knaus should not be allowed to hang around the pit box, Knaus should be banned from track. of course the driver knew what was going on, & look where it got him. 23 points in the hole!!!!!!!!!!

Why take any points away? It doesn't make much sense to dock them 25 points now when they're going to reset the points after the first 26 races.

Knaus is an outright cheater and needs to be banned from NASCAR. He doesn't just push the limits. He does things that are illegal and he knows it. This is at least the 4th time he has been caught with rather major violations.

Please....Chad has been suspended before for a bunch of races, he phones in; he isn't learning; try 6 week suspension, $50,000 fine for Chad; I am good with the 25 points for Johnson but I think that they need to take 100 owner points and fine the owner $100,000. I mean it is great that Rick Hendrick is so supportive for auto racing but remember he was at home with an ankle bracelet for quite a while not too long ago so he might need a little reminder as well.

Johnson is probably just a shoe and doesn't know what they are doing with the car.

the 48 is done. if there was tension before, there will def be some now. johnson knew i suspect, but knaus crippled him at the track by leaving the team no guidance on race day. serves him right. are they champs because he cheated for 5 years or is jimmie really all that great? maybe we need an asterisk on the last five years. obviously nascar thought it was bad enough. 25 points on this point system is pretty tough, and now in the negative, johnson is all alone. time to shine, champ.

All teams pushed the limits to the line in the past and now in the present. What NASCAR is doing now is stifling imagination by making all the cars so cookie cutter close it has become HO-HUM racing. Where would racing be if were not for the brilliant work of Smokey Yunick, Wood Brothers, Junior Johnson, The Pettys,The Elliots and all the teams that worked and found that magic edge that won races before the restrictor plate debacle. Why doesn't Nascar just build a fab shop and mass produce rolling chassis,engines,and bodies and just put the stickers on as they go out the door. Anybody want to go racing, just bring a checkbook.

Since all teams cheat, are you saying Knaus is the worst cheat of them all since he's the one who gets caught multiple times here lately?
