I agree with Dale Jarret but NASCAR isn't about being fair anymore. It's about keeping everybody in the hunt especially one guy. NASCAR is afraid that there are only a few guys that are capable of winning a lot of races and they don't want them to run away with the championship. For God's sake the winner should certainly get more than 9 points more than the guy that finished in 10th place.

What would Dale (Chopsticks) Jarrett know about anything? The only reason he won a championship is that he had Yates power when no one, and I mean no one, was even close! Once the other engines got on par, ol Chopsticks showed his true talend. Heck, he couldn't even make the field when he was with that clown show at Michael POS Waltrip (Motormouth Racertainment) Racing.
Dale Jarrett knows way more than you. His family has been in the sport since the 50s. His opinion holds way more validity than people who post on here, or complain on here. You say no one was close to Yates power, I recall Dale Sr. not only being close but better lots of times than ol DJ. Your fantasy post is shot down in flames!!

From the explain I heard a couple of hours ago of the new point system, it seems the race winner is going to finish at least 12 points, possibly 13 ahead of 10th place. Even with this new point system Jimmie Johnson would still have won the last five championships. I like returning to the top 10 in points and then adding the next two race winners rather than the next two in points. Personnally, I would rather the rule be that regardless of points, you must win at least one race in order to be in chase even thought it would have left my man out last year. Face it, no other sport has a team in the playoff that hasn't won something.
