In other sports it's not a drunk-fan-vote that decides MVP, that credit is reserved for players that excel at the sport, it is determined by their performance and the fan favorite is usually a favorite because they are remarkable players in their chosen sport.

In NASCAR, they let a bunch of drunken fans vote to give a meaningless title to a non-competitive driver then pin their hopes on that driver to take the sport to the top. NASCAR and the press, continue to confuse "Most POPULAR Driver" with other sports "Most VALUABLE Player", there is a huge difference between being the most popular among a bunch of drunks and being respected as the most valuable player based on your performance in the sport.

Mike Bianchi better watch his back. You can't write the truth about Jr Earnhardt and get away with it. If the NASCAR Nazis don't get him, some drunken Jr fan will.

Just for your information the fact that you're a Dale Jr fan should be embarrassing enough, you might want to claim to be a drunk just to excuse your extreme lack of good judgment.

You know Dale Jr. has had some good years and some bad years. Just because he is in a dry spell, it doesn't mean his fans (myself included) are going to switch our favorite Driver for another. It's called Loyalty.

Good or Bad, Win or Lose he is still my favorite Driver.

I can't understand why people like you come to a Dale Jr. Forum and just bash away, Get a life or at least go to another Forum, maybe even one you like, Please!!!

First, I'm not at a Dale Jr Forum, I'm in a NASCAR forum.

Second, I don't consider 5 consecutive years of lousy performance to be just a "dry spell." How long do you give the guy a pass before you just admit that he isn't even trying to compete?

Oh yeah, your post sounds real intelligent. It's comments like that that give the impression that all JR fans are drunks. Maybe you should sober up before you play with the keyboard.

What I will admit is there are 43 Drivers out there every race clawing for a win. There is a lot of talent out there, and not all of them have won a race recently.

Did Jr. falter a bit?? Yes. He is human.

Am I going to dessert my Driver because he can't win a race, He!! no. However the last time I looked at the Standings my guy is in 3RD,it's been a long time since he has been this consistent and I think you bashers need to give him some credit.

I disagree with the premise of this article. ol Jooooooonnnnyyyyyyyyrrrrrrrrr is VERY significant because he sells more A$$CAR junk than anyone else. Driving and/or winning in A$$CAR is secondary at best. The point of the "sport" is to be a rolling billboard and sell stuff, nothing more or less.
