Sure a Toyota could have won Daytona, and so could a Ford, Chevy or a Dodge if Nascar would have let those cars on the track. It's all decals folks... wake up. The Nascar propaganda machine scored another victory.

You know what's really funny: All these folks griping about Toyota while they sit on their over-stuffed backsides watching the race on their Japanese HD TV. I don't get it. I don't think there even IS an American made TV anymore.

BTW: Go MWR and Toyota!!!!

Once again the Nascar propaganda machine has managed to fool the masses. The cars that are running around the track on Saturday and Sunday are not Ford's, Chevy's, Dodge's or the beloved Toyota. It's called a spec car people with the manufacturers decal slapped on it along with the manufacturers motor. The series should be renamed the Sprint Cup Spec Series, that would be a more accurate description of this pitiful incarnation Nascar has become.
its the most fair form of racing...do you really want to match american engineering vs the japanese? the american companies are too broke and weak to even field an f1 team.

Are you kidding me???
MANY Japanese automakers have relationships with american auto makers.
Mitsubishi and Dodge work together
Mazda and Ford work together
Isuzu and GM have worked together
AND MOST IMPORTANT, Toyota has provided the engine thats in GM's Pontiac Vibe, Pointiac's number 1 seller. So lets see, Toyota put one of their engines in a GM car.
Go back to class.
Where does Toyota sellout think the money goes when American businesses are taken to Mexico? Do the Mexicans get the money or does it come back to the Americans? Or, is it just the Japanese who get the money from the Toyotas sold here in the USA?
That Toyota sellout is a racist pig.

Good evening, g! Can I ask you to help me with another stupid question? Ok, here goes. Say Mikey gets crashed into the wall, like Ragan slammed Matt last weekend. Mikey takes off for the garage. My question is: can Michael grab a back-up car instead of the crew frantically trying to straighted out what has been bashed in? Does the car, whether it be a back-up car or the same one have to be thoroughly inspected before they haul-butt back out there or do the inspectors wait for post-inspection?

These folks could not possibly be WWII veterans or perhaps even Korean vets. I know all about Pearl Harbor, just like you do. They f&*cked up, plain and simple. The Emperor of Japan was planning on taking it all the way to Australia. I do know a WWII vet, she is 85 years old and I asked her once what triggered off the Japanese to bomb the harbor. I never got a straight answer. Can you give me a simple one? I do remember the film of the Emperor on the ship all dressed in dress uniform conceding to, was it Douglas McAurther? He "lost face" and he took it. The people of Japan were some of the most enthusiastic folks when we landed on the moon. I remember a s*&t load of them frantically waving U.S. flags when we landed. I didn't hallucinated that, they had a film of it.

Actually, my dad is a WWII vet. He still has the "Japs are evil" mentality. He's also retired from GM. He blames the Japs for costing US jobs while he tells me how he used to take 2 hour naps at work. My father-in-law is retired from Ford. He did the same thing hiding under work-benches to take a nap while getting paid overtime. That's why GM and Ford are no longer #1 & 2 in car sales.

As to your question for the bombing of Pearl Harbor, I believe that it was pre-emptive to make it more difficult for us to wage war against Japan. Even Yamamoto said it was a mistake in his memoirs. Japan's military made the decision to attack. They never asked the guy on the street that was destined to die in the war.

Regardless, what Pearl Harbor teaches us is to always be vigilant. It should not teach us to hate the Japanese for an event that is now nearly 70 years in the past.

If he would crash during the race, he would have to try a fix the car that was crashed to finish the race in, as far as inspection that would be after the race, I'm sure NASCAR checks for Fluid leakage, and loose parts, or sheet metal before it hits the track again! The only time a back up can be used is if the original car is wrecked during practice, qualifying, or final practice. If it's after or during qualifying(must be in top 35)then no matter where they qualified they must start at the back of the pack!

While it is true that, except for the motors, nose pieces and stickers, they are spec cars, it is the form of racing I like best, and will continue to watch.
That being said, do the xenophobes know that the majority of GM's sales and employees are in China, and that Toyota in America is no more or less a Japanese company than Daimler-Chrysler (Dodge) is a German company? And what are they using to post their messages with? Name one personal computer that is made in America.

Oh don't feel bad for me feel bad for yourself and your other clueless nascar fans. I have moved on to other forms of racing where you actually have to qualify to make the main event. How enlightning. None of nascars BS of giving the top 35 in points a free pass to get into the 500. That's what I call pathetic. This thing you call racing is nothing more than a glorified IROC race every week of the year. Nascar sucked the innovation, personality and life right out of the series and right before your eyes and you don't see it. I'm sure you'll still tell me that a Dodge won the Daytona 500. I was a Nascar fan for over 40 years and in it's current state I find it an unwatchable corporate circus side show.

I just put together about my 7th or 8th desktop computer, right here in Ohio, with my own two hands.

I am sure there are other companies who build desktops here in the USA, of course, as well as mine, contained the bulk of the components made by the Chi-Coms, not the japs, anymore, as they are too busy supplying $$$(I mean YEN) for TuRD and POS's race team!

Very cool post, you would make a good teacher. Maybe, you are one! I agree wholeheartedly with what you said. My stepdad flew with the Flying Tigers, running supplies from the US to China during WWII. He was in the Navy and was also part of the CNA group, or something like that, I have his papers somewhere. He never had this hatred for anyone from anywhere over there. He was patriotic as hell, but didn't wave the flag in your face to the point where you couldn't see, you know what I mean?

It was so funny one time. His name was Chuck Sims and one afternoon, a very nice black man came to pave our driveway. His name was Charlie Sims! Those two got off on that so much they sounded like two hens clucking. Then, something even freakier happened. Charlies told my dad he was from Cowpens, South Carolina. That is where my dad was from. Before I knew it, both fellows were talking about the plantations and the Civil War and how the folks up there buried their silver and stuff. Neither one of them sounded bigoted in the least. They almost sounded as though they were related! Charlie's great somebody was an officer for the south during the Civil War. This was the first time I had ever heard of that. They don't teach kids stuff like this in school.
