I'm with you too! Nascar cannot have this black eye now! They are going to do everything in their power to make sure this test comes back positive, if it is negative Jeremy gets alot of MONEY and Nascar will not be able to be trusted ever again!
Nasacar will never have another believable drug testing program ever!

If the feds step in and investigate, the truth will surely come out!!!!!

Someone will have to lie on the stand !

The federal government doesn't need to get involved in this mess. Hell, they would make it ten times worst than it already is and they are no more creditable than what people think NASCAR is. If the injunction still is in effect, NASCAR should test Jeremy every third day and submit the samples to different reputable labs and KEEP THEIR MOUTH SHUT ABOUT THE RESULTS. According to the injunction, NASCAR has the right to test him whenever and whereever they want. The moment Jeremy realizes NASCAR isn't going to let him play his games while they're waiting for trail, he'll shutup and go away.

I think that Jeremy has finally lost it. The real drug user is Brian France?
NASCAR doesn't need the feds involved but they do need to stick to their guns. Sending the samples to different labs though is a great idea.

THe dirty little secret is that drivers for years have been hopped up on drugs while racing. Can you go around a circle at 190 MPH for 500 miles without a boost of some sort? Probably not. Cale Yarborough use to rub powder cocaine on his gums before races to keep him alert.

This whole thing stinks. NASCAR can't be trusted to adhere to the principles they claim to represent. Truth is not in their dictionary. Very reminiscent of the Bush whitehouse.

Let's face it he failed not one but two drug tests. He is toast.

Why would Nascar spike the first drug test? What do they have to gain? He was not the only person who failed the random test. I think they should do more drug testing. Hell test the whole field every 3 days. Hair test. If they fail they need to be out of the sport. Mayfield failed twice. get him out of the sport.

I am a peace officer and deal with drug addicts everyday. The story as I have heard it so far (from several different news outlets) is typical tweaker. They deny any wrong doing and make excuses why they can't give a sample on short notice when the real reason is they know it will be "dirty" (positive for controlled substances). It has also been my experince that a drug abuser is never get caught on his or her first time using, so if Mayfield is just now getting busted then you know he has been using for a long, long time. If other drivers are using illegal drugs they to should pay. NASCAR may not have a perfect system, nobody does, but they gain nothing from negative publicity. Based on the amount of money drivers earn it is a privilege to be part of NASCAR. If anybody that is a part of it violates their rules, your out, it is NASCAR's choice. A Judge should not be allowed to tell a private orginazation how to operate, that is goverment getting involved where it doesnt need to be. As for a federal investigation? Why? NASCAR is not a Federal agency the Feds do not belong there. If they (Feds) want to look into purjury in a Fed court, fine but it has to end there. Mayfield should be out forever. There is pleanty of talented, up and coming, young, drug free drivers to keep racing fun.

Why no hair test to back this up? I too have heard every excuse in the book for false positive results. I work on a drilling rig and we are subject to random tests any time. The urine tests can be falsified if the testee has enough time to do so. The hair tests are much, much harder to tamper with. They all say "I don't know how I failed". I'll tell you how. They were/are using drugs. These drug testing companies ARE looking out for the testee's rights too. No one wants to see anyone fail who is not using drugs. Not me, you, not even Big, Bad NASCAR. I feel the tweaker got caught here, and is only embarassing hisself. Let him sue.

I heard that the hair test isn't as reliable in detecting meth use. I thought I heard that from someone who works in a lab. They don't do blood because the metabolism time is 1-3 days while urine gives you a 3-5 day period.

Actually it was filed yesterday, unless of course Jenna Fryer is a week behind also and Nascar is omnipresent.

Here is an article on meth and hair analysis! I'm really surprised no one has mentioned Mayfields' picture in the article, he looks like he's "speeding" like hell, to me!!!

My sister pointed that out today. If he's not doing Meth, something is very wrong with him.
