The only person to mess over Jeremy Mayfield was Jeremy Mayfield. In the famous last words of Smoke Johnson, "you can't fix stupid". Jeremy was stupid for the way he would throw people around him under the bus when it suited him, he was stupid for some of the accusations he made about people he drove for, he was stupid getting involved with drugs but he was a total dumbass for investing his own money in an attempt at owning his team and driving for himself. He should have known he was hiring one of the most no talent dummies to ever get in a Cup car. I'm sure there is something they can find for him to do at the Mickey D's in Owensboro, cleaning grease traps or pickup the parking lot, something. Seriously, I would imagine that if Jeremy could get some do overs, he'd change a lot his screwups the second time around.

Dan, get over it. Your name sake is suffering from the worlds worst self-inflicted foot shot. Did you really think NASCAR was going to open a can of worms like this one without having their
sh-- together? Really! Suspending a driver at the Cup level after all the grief they had caught about their drug policy wasn't a decision they made without being real sure they could defend their position. That is why they have a battery of high dollar lawyers on retainer.

man... epic fail.

Whoyakidding nailed it... can't fix stupid. That guy must be stupid because it's like, there's almost 1000 waking minutes in a day for him to think about decisions, and how long has this been going on? But yeah... a decision to pursue something that had such unappealing results USUALLY feels kinda iffy, AT LEAST. I have to wonder if he really still thought something productive would come out of it.

Whoyakidding i really want to know what accusations mayfield made about the people he drove for that were not true? I really think you have to much time on your hands to worry about someone so much as you worry about mayfield. He will come out of this on top in the end and then you can eat your dumbass - stupid remarks also one more thing you sure know alot of what they do at Mickey D's is that what from experience? My prayers are with you always and forever Mayfield!

The saddest part is Mayfield has let many others suffer while he remainded in denial. I just hope people can now start putting their lives back on a positive road.

I can see why the lawsuit was dismissed from that judge. He needs to be removed.

I guess this one speaks with all of the authority and knowledge of NASCAR that can be gained in that NASCAR hopspot of the Midwest! Girl, for your edification, Jeremy started out being willing to lie to, cheat and throw anybody under the bus. This deviant way of life started with first cup owner, T.W. Taylor and extended to the last real competitive ride Jeremy had with Ray Evernham. Jeremy was and is a self centered young man who took much delight in stepping on all of the hands on the ladder while he was on an upward climb and now is in a drug induced state of denial on his fast decent on that same ladder and wonders why none of the hands on the ladder are not extended to help stop his free fall. I met Jeremy when he drove for T.W. out of an airplane hanger located in Dinwiddie Va. and was not very impressed with him and was even less so after he back stabbed T.W. with Cale Yarborough while T.W. was testing a plane that he was going to purchase from Cale. Girl, I speak from first hand knowledge about Jeremy and you gain your knowledge and wisdom, from where?

Darling, when Jeremy comes out on top of anything other than the trash heap, call me and I'll arrange to apologize to jeremy in front of the flagpole at CMS and then kiss his ass till my lips are chapped. While we're waiting, keep yourself busy compiling a list of his fellow drivers that have rallied to his side offering their undying support. Me, I'm not rushing out to buy any Chapstick.

Hey there Voice or Reality. I've been off the topix site for quite some time and upon my return I see you're still stirring the pot. For those reading this I have to admit that VOR and I have a great deal of respect for each other. I know VOR does his homework and at times it's obvious that he is pushing you to do some critical thinking. Not a bad idea when it comes to our govermental leaders as well. Both Dems and Repubs. Anyway, VOR, I did get to speak with Jeremy's mom not to long ago and as you would expect, he is down in the dumps. I wrote him a pick me up letter but did not hear back. Gang, VOR and I both have first hand knowledge of Jeremy, it just happens to be from different perspectives. I never had a bad experience with Jeremy but others may have seen a different side of him. The continuation of these blogs is somewhat useless. Jeremy's racing days are over and hopefully he will get on with another life. VOR, I hope you're still stirring emotions with the other driver supporters as well. Take care. Combat Vet

In order to get help, you have to want to be helped. Denying everything you've done and throwing insults and accusations at everyone usually doesn't lead to others wanting to lend you a hand. Jeremy was offered the same chances at rehabilitation that any driver would be offered, but those chances are meaningless if the offender makes zero effort to take advantage of them.

What it comes down to is simple. Jeremy ended his own career, not Nascar or others involved in the sport. There's a reason Jeremy was driving for himself in a barely funded team. He had opportunities in much better rides and those opportunities all went bye bye. There's also reasons for why those opportunities were no longer open to Jeremy. When you top all of that off with the drug use and denial, not to mention the accusations and insults thrown around by Mayfield, it becomes pretty easy to see why little/no support came to Jeremy from the Nascar community.

Also, I know there will be those Mayfield supporters who will now criticize the Judge for dismissing his case, even though they have pretty much zero knowledge of the actual facts. At what point do they start questioning why everyone seems to be against Jeremy (even people who gain little to nothing by doing so.) Maybe, just maybe, they're judging the situation on the merits and information that most supporters have no clue about.

Anyway, I've made my decision on Jeremy long ago. I've seen absolutely nothing that would change that opinion since. In fact, the limited information that I've had strengthens and supports that decision and nothing has come out (that anyone has been able to show me or point me to) that would in any way suggest that Jeremy is anything but responsible for why he's no longer a part of Nascar (and never will be again.)
