Jeff Gordon can pull off a surprise!

There's very little debate here, aside from whether Jeff Gordon can pull off a surprise.

Anyone who would be surprised by jeff winning this race, is apparently, easily surprised. Despite the fact that Jimmie has had a lot of success the last few years at Martinsville, Jeff is usually the one he has to beat. When I consider how hungry Jeff must be for a victory (erasing that stigma of a no win season) and his ability at Martinsville, I'd be surprised as hell, if he's not there at the end with a good shot at it. I really see it coming down to Jeff and Jimmie, but this is a track where a lot can go wrong for a driver and there are a few others, who are more than capable, of pulling off a victory. I'll never guarantee that any driver is going to win a particular race, but anyone who doesn't like jeff's chances here, is completely out of their mind. Let's us also not forget, he did finish 2nd here in the spring race.

jeff did it again he covered jimmy,s butt so he can win another cup.which is fraud, because nascar is supposed to be a sport.not entertainment.therefore mahing it fraud to throw races .jeff is as guilty as pete rose.and not be allowed in hall of fame.he had the best car all day.who does he think he is fooling.he belongs in jail.

Leave JG alone and don't put anymore pressure on him than he does himself. He's still the very best. Also, I would rather see that happy smile when he's with Ingrid and Ella than another trophy.

Agreed! I sure would like to see him get another championship though, before he wraps up a stellar career. There's no doubt of his talent in a car. What people consider a bad year for Jeff, is a dream season for most. I think that says volumes about how good he actually is. Jeff isn't just the best out there, he's a living legend. I'm a big fan of Jimmie's, but I believe Jeff is the better driver and that's saying a lot, because I believe Jimmie is moving toward legendary status himself.
