Mr Ballard.... WHAT? Martin has big shoes to fill in No. 8....... I am sure that you meant the "legacy of Jr." and not the driving skills. I like both drivers, and I am a die hard Stewart fan. You should have given more thought to the words in your article's tittle. As for as driver's skills go.... Mark Martin's toes would be hurting in Jr's shoes! Sorry Jr fans... but that is a fact.

THe Earnhardt Legacy Mark? Sr. got the #8 specifically for Jr. The Step-mom should have done the gracious thing, right or wrong, and let Jr have the 8 his father gave him. And as for Childress, maybe while he's recovering from his facework, he should think about the same thing with the 3. He protects that number becasue of Sr., he should have advised the Step-mom to protect the 8 with Jr. Either a number has no meaning or it is associated with uniques drivers. Childress and teh Step-mom want it both ways.

What big shoes? I love Jr., but he has a lot to prove when it comes to his driving. He does not have the killer instinct it takes to be a great driver.Whwn he has won a championship, he can be called a great driver. Right now, if his name was Joe Blow, he would be looking for a ride.

I don't know, is it bad luck or a wicked step-mom. Sick and tired of Jr. Nation talking out of both sides of their mouth. That's why they have no credibility..........

Sorry but this would be like saying Jeff Gordon has big shoes to fill if he were taking the 8.

Jr may be the most popular driver but he is not the best. Mark Martin surpasses Jr on that one.

I am a Jr fan but even I know he is not the best out there, he is good, just not the best.

Dale jr should have been allowed to take the #8 with him seems how that number first belonged to his grandfather Ralph Earnhardt and to have someone else drive it is just wrong I think DEI is just being selfish

Geez people get over it. It's just a number. I'm sure all of Jr's fans can afford to buy a new shirt.
