I understood your comment just fine. You are right! Gordon almost won without Latarte on the box. I think with the good teams most of the work is done in the shop anyway and they are ready to race come sunday and don't spend the whole race chasing their tails. Tery dude is just too simple too see the nessage.

I recognized the reference to "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" - LOL - I almost used it myself! I too believe the HMS crew did a great job despite the handicap (of their own doing? Perhaps)! I will say this however, everybody that is so happy about last weeks penalties must be careful what they wish for. It is one thing to want to severely punish the teams that are up front, but Brian Vickers got sent home, the #5 and #70(?) might face a fate similar to that of the #8,#24, and #48. If three separate cars have similar problems for the same race, I think there just might be a flaw SOMEWHERE, but #83 has already been punished, NOW WHAT? The original roll-out of the COT has been ramped up, and I think that NASCAR is being overly sensitive to the learning curve. Had they stuck to the original plan - the one the teams based their 2007-2008 decisions on, then I would say "O.K., sounds fair!". But to change the size of the ball and raise the hoop in the middle of the game is unfair to the guys that are not fortunate enough to have access to the deep pockets. As a HMS fan, I seriously doubt that the teams that make the chase will change much, but I understand how NASCAR felt they couldn't do any less than they did. We'll just have to wait and see what NASCAR can find wrong with the impounded cars.

Gee, I wonder who you were rooting for to win?

Hamlin should be very glad it was Gordon behind him and not someone like Earnhardt, Sr. or he would never have been allowed to finish first.

If you don't like it then get off the Nascar forums and go find an Indycar forum to run your mouth on.

ya got that right! JG has his earnhardtish moments but generally taps them out of the way as opposed to running them into the wall!
