I guess everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but to say Dale Jr. is the best driver in Nascar is reaching.

I like Jr. but I have to agree with John. Jr. is not the best. Right now Jr. is not even a contender for the chase or even in Jeff, Jimmie and Marks league. JMHO.

No doubt Jimmie is an outstanding driver and no matter what happens to him on the race track, he keeps a good attitude. Even thought I am not a Johnson fan, I can't help but like him. He is the only one I hate seeing coming up behind my driver while he is in the lead though.

Who is your driver? I've been a JJ fan forever. But I also like Tony and Jeff and Jr.

johnson had the best car by a mile. before montoya screwed up, johnson was gaining 3/10 per lap on martin every lap becuz his crew chief is a damned magician. he was gaining on montoya as well. he gained 3 seconds on both of them on the last long green run.

I agree. And everyone knows Jimmie does his best racing the last 25 laps or so (unless he gets a good run and leads the most laps). No one can positively say that Montoya would have won that race without the speed violation.

That happens a lot.
If he didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck.
Jeff Gordon is the best but Jimmie is gaining ground.

With 4 Championships and 80 plus wins, it is obviously Jeff Gordon. Hope he takes the Championship.

Yea, but since 2002 when Jimmie joined the cup series, he has been the dominant driver period. Not just at Hendrick, but the entire series.
Since 2002:
Jimmie- 43 wins, 3 championships
Tony- 23 wins, 2 championships
Jeff- 24 wins, 0 championships
I included Tony because he is the driver that has been the most competitive with Jimmie and Jeff.
This isn't about who use to be the best, but who is right now, and that is without question Jimmie. Jeff certainly has as much talent as anyone who's ever been on the track, but until he can match what Jimmie is currently doing, he is not the best at Hendrick right now. The way Mark is running this year, he may not even be 2nd best right now. Mark has had some bad luck at times this year, but he has been extremely competitive when those things don't happen. Jeff certainly has the edge in consistency over Mark right now, but Mark has the edge in being able to win races. We'll see how it all pans out in the end. I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see either of these 3 win this championship. As for Dale Jr. I'm not a Jr. hater by any means, but lets face it, he's not even a factor in this debate right now.
