Nice article despite the anti-Robby skew. As a journalist it is your privilege to paint opinion with whatever brush you like. The facts though should always remain the same. You wrote "..In '05 he attempted to wreck Michael Waltrip under caution.." It is MW that wrecked Robby, a act even admitted by Waltrip.

Once again, another smear job of Robby. Amazing that some people seem to think one man, with a single action seems to be able to ruin ten whole races for four guys that are supposed to be the best racers in the sport. Gee, doesn't that automatically mean that those guys AREN'T the best racers in the sport if they can't recover for one bad race?
Nice way to absolve those guys of any responsibility they had in losing the championships.
Jimmie Johnson has had several bad races in all of his Chase efforts and his worst finish was fifth. Why could Jimmie recover and they couldn't? Oh, yeah, Robby's fault. I bet you think he kicked Mrs. O'Leary's cow too.
You know, it's funny but you slam Robby for actions your buddy Dale Earnhardt did every day. Now, Dale never would have flouted a NASCAR directive but that's because NASCAR never did anything to Dale for anything because he was their golden boy. If Marcos had spun Dale, Marcos would have been put to the back of the pack.

Typical Robby bashing; I'll agree that the Biffle indicident in NH was a bad-moment, but a couple of points: 1. Mikey hooked Robby's bumper under caution at NH; 2. "roll-bar" gate was at Atlanta not Charlotte and a non-issue; many drivers admitted doing the same-just amazed that Robby was "caught" after all these years of gloves falling out of cars; 3. Robby was already an owner in other racing venues, becoming a Cup owner was a natural progression for his career and a smart move on his part (drivers w/o full time rides incl. Marlin, Nemecheck, Mayfield, Yeley, Schrader & more to follow); also, RCR equipment at that time was not the best and RC has admitted that. 4. Robby is great with fans and more accessible than almost all other drivers. 5. NASCAR fans don't like being pushed around and they recognize Robby was being pushed around. 6. Montreal indicident helped raise awareness of NASCAR's penchant for "influencing" races - they need an independent group to "officiate" the races to avoid conflicts of interest. Keep in mind NBA is under federal inquiry over game fixing allegations, can the same case be made against NASCAR? 7. I still laugh imagining the looks on France & Helton's faces watching the end of that race....yes, it was worth it just for that!

Great Story! You are one of the best a skewing the facts. Maybe all that fat clogs vision, hearing and puts undo stress on the blood flow to your brain.

ed,what race were you watching? robby did not wreck ambrose after he was black flagged or dq'd. robby got turned under yellow and he turned ambrose under yellow, if you want to report the news check the facts or at least watch the race or the hundred or more replays shown this week. too many personal thoughts in the robby rant.

Awesome stats for Jeff Gordon and Robby during the last 15 years. You being the great statustition, I suppose you forgot a few stats on Robby's side during the same period.
How many 24 Hours of Daytona wins, Indy Car wins, Baja 1000 wins, Baja 500 wins, Dakar Stage Wins, Indy 500 top fives does Jeff have during the same period? ZERO!
By the way, you forgot that every season Robby raced Jeff in Iroc Robby flat mopped the floor with his butt. Same cars same race RG smoked him hands down. Jeff's team gets more credit than Jeff's driving without a question.

Wow, did Robby run over your dog or something? It must be something personal to have you write such a nasty, biased....oh wait! I know...Nascar paid you to write it to take the heat off them for blowing the call at Montreal in the first place, right? Now it makes sense to me!

Never let the facts get in the way of a good rant...

You write as if Robby Gordon's career has been a failure. Minimal success's, can't get along, crazy antics. He has won at every level of racing he has ever competed in. He is made from the same mold as Mario/AJ, maybe not as good, but still talented. He plays the game of auto racing the way he wants, as he should, it's his life. I suspect his concience is clear as that is usually the case of those who address things out in the open rather than keep them inside. All indications are that RG is living and enjoying life as he intended, so who are you to write this article? What would I criticize you for? Can't you attain greater heights than just writing this article? My thought is that if you were a reporter, and not just a writer, you would be writing an investigative piece on why NASCAR appears to be fixing races? At least that is what 3 of the series top drivers have intimated this year. Clearly, most everyone watching last weeks race saw RG get robbed, yet nothing happened to MA or KH. Maybe you should stop worrying about what others might have made out of their lives, and worry about you. I certainly won't compare you to a Bob Woodward, could not find another Hinton. Best of luck taking the easy way out with fluff piece. I am sure your mama is proud.

I don't care what anyone says, I like Robby Gordon. Nascar needs more like him. He adds some life to the sport. He is a free spirit and does'nt care who he pisses off. Nascar is just pissed he is not one of their little robot drivers and yes men. It's racing! we're not launching the space shuttle here. Dale Sr. was like that. You either loved him or hated him and sport has missed that. Tony Stewart has been the closest to that but he does it in a spoiled brat kind of way. Robby Gordon is the real deal and I like him for it!
