Well...I gotta set the record straight!!After reading these other post, I could no longer take it. This is coming from a man who has been following Nascar since diapers, which by the way was 1969. I went to my first race in 1975 at Charlotte, NC(KING WON!)I have been following nascar and the Petty's since that time. I have to say to all you guys who just recently jumped on the nascar band-wagon...You really dont know what Nascar is about. And when I say just jumped on, I mean from the Dale Sr. era. to today. Kyle Petty has never been the driver his Dad was, however there were alot of obstacles that hindered that, for instance a severe crash at Talledega, while in his prime.(Kyle was never the same)But remember in 92, he had a possibily to win the championship even down to the last race. He dominated Rockingham...which Nascar of today does not even go there anymore. I have had the opportunity to hang out with the Petty's by chance with mutual friends and they are what the sport of Nascar was all about. Adam was a true Petty and a proven Winner!! Just look what these guys have done of the track as well!!!As far as Denny Hamlin and all those newcomers to Nascar...Just as the new comer fans...You can thank your lucky stars for the Pettys(and Allisons, Pearson and a few others)If not for them, you would not be making the millions you are now, and the fans would not be sitting in their recliners watching it on Tv. Hell....I had one ear to the radio speaker to hear them scream, "And Richard Petty has done it Again". So all you Petty-Haters...Just sit down, shut up and watch the sport continue to die, especially when the last Petty fades away!Oh by the way....Dale Earnhardt Sr. was once quoted as saying...." We share the titles however Richard Petty will always be the KING!

I don't think nascar will die out but you have a good point about the Pettys' and Dale. Nascar has changed for better or for worse since Davey, high groove Harry Gant, and Dale Sr. left or past away. It seems that Nascar is looking out for it self.
