He didn't say he was out of the Chase---he said he was out of the championship and he would work hard to get the best position he could. No matter who gets the Cup he has been the best driver all year---that's why the Chase is a farce. Jeff Gordon was done out of the championship the first year of the Chase and Jimmy Johnson the year he won the most races. Each time these drivers were the best all year long and lost because of incidents like just happened the past two weeks to Kyle. Don't gloat too much because it may be your driver next!!

I'm sure the Pats thought the same thing last year when they had a perfect record going into the Superbowl but ended up losing to the Giants that had a worse record.

I personally like the chase. It makes it more like all the other sports by having playoffs and a championship.

I guess we all have our own opinions.

I still say they should give the winner of reg. season something. Money or a Trophy, something to say, they were #1 in reg. season.

If Kyle is out of the running so is everybodys favorite. If you can't win races you aren't going to win the championship.

They do get money and a trophy for each win. Playoffs sometimes just don't seem fair but a winning team just has to keep digging if they fall back. At least with the chase they have 10 races so they can bounce back if they have a rough week or 2 at the beginning. In other sports once they lose they're out.

For a football championship the two top teams have a playoff. All of the other teams that participated during the year were out---they were not on the field with the two winners!!If this was a real "Playoff" it would have been between Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards. They had the most points. There would not be 41 other spoilers on the field. NASCAR geniuses dreamed this up along with the Car Of Tomorrow and demanded all of the drivers say please and thank you!!Turn em loose and let em race like they used to!!!

Actually after the 16 regular season games they take the top team from each of the 8 (4 NFC 4 AFC) divisions along with wildcard teams they play each other and each winner advances this goes on until only 1 NFC and 1 AFC are left. Those 2 have a final playoff and the winner takes all. Just like last year by the time Homestead came around it was down to just 2 drivers and the winner (JJ) took all.

It basically the same thing. They last 10 races are the playoff races.

Like I said some like it some don't.. I happen to be one that does. Different strokes for different folks.

The chase was created for Dale JR..because he came in 11th when Ricky Rudd came in tenth.

So Nascar in its infinite wisdom created the stupid chase. Then they changed it to top 12 when dear Jr again did not make the top ten.
Of course, only the top 10 go to NY for the awards..makes a lot of sense, huh?
The best driver should win, period.

That is Kyle Busch..no matter what anyone else says..wins do not lie.

Actually.. they changed it to the top 12 the year after Smoke didn't make the chase in 2006. Jr was in it that year.

Your right.
BUT, It would be nice to see, like last year. Jeff won the regular season and Jimmie won the Championship. And have Jeff or whoever get credit for it.

I see your point especially with the JG situation last year.. Dang, he had 30 top 10s and finished the chase with what something like a 5.2 average? It's kind of hard to swallow but sometime we just have to accept the changes that are made and just enjoy the racing. Not everyone is going to like it so just got to learn to make the best of it.

If it's the same then remove the rest of the field... Guess we will just agree that we disagree....
