Accident. Anyone who actually thinks Tony would have hit him, much less hurt or killed him, on purpose is basing that on dislike of Tony, not on common sense. It just would not have happened. Period. Kid made a mistake, an accident happened, and many are hurting now. Don't make it even more of a tragedy.

Or did Tonys attitude just go to far this time ? I think everyone would agree he didnt MEAN to kill him just send a message dont mess with ME Im Tony Sewert. His temper is suspect at best. He probably didnt mean to even hit him but all he had to do was move over a little like the car in front of him did. He let his ego over rule common sense.

That 'bip' of the throttle audible just before Tony's car fish tales to the outside is very damning.

If you look at the video closely it looks like he tried to grab onto the wing of the car

This was brought up before. When I watch the video, I see the drivers side rear wheel jump just before it looks like Kevin is grabbing. I think when that rear wheel jumps, Kevin is actually being run over, then the other rear tire flings him up in the air and his arms are spread as he is flying through the air. Of course this is just my opinion.

It is hard to see in the video and hard to believe that there are no better videos from a different angle

I think they said there was a second video that the investigators had obtained, it was from a different angle. I doubt if they'll release it to the public. It is very hard to tell what happened even in the slow motion video

Like I said Im sure it wasnt on purpose BUT Tony could have and should have moved over to defuse the situation. He chose not to. With all his experience in race cars Tony KNEW better. He tried to intimidate the kid by getting as close as he could. Then he gunned it causing the back of the car to brake loose into the kid. IF he did try to grab the spoiler its because it was coming at him. The revving the motor is the cause and Tony did it. Im not a Stewart hater at all but its HIS fault 100% and he knows it or he would be racing tomorrow or even soon. TRAGIC lapse in judgement.

Goob, your being a goob!! The police and all kinds of pros in analyzing stuff like this can't even come up with a description as vivid as yours. Your dislike of Tony is very evident in this post! How you can give Tony 100% of the blame is ludicrous. Everyone says why don't Nascar make a rule for drivers to not do what Kevin Ward did attempting to make a point and show his displeasure with a racing accident, there is a rule already. So goob, your wrong in putting all the blame on Tony. Nobody but Tony and Kevin knows what really happened. Everything else is speculation. I speculate you goob are a goob!!
