This is effing BS. So so so so so ridiculous. How can you honestly tell Kenny Francis + team that they are not allowed to bring the correct brake fluid for the car?! And MAKE THEM use the wrong kind! I'm so LIVID with RPM right now...but can't say I didn't expect them to pull some BS like this.

Conversation:

KK: "My brake is on the floor. AGAIN. On the floor. Like Dover. I don't know SH*T about brakes but I'm smarter than anyone else on our team about brakes!"

KF: "We know we're running the wrong brake fluid. We wanted to run the other fluid, but the powers that be (RPM) won't let us run what we want to run!"

So, it appears Kasey left the track. Car is back out, but JJ Yeley is behind the wheel. He says the brakes are fine and the car is driving nice. Although, JJ drives worse stuff than Kasey so who knows how "nice" it really is.

The only thing I can think of is it could be about a sponsor thing. Whoever's fluid they are using may be a sponsor so they are obligated to use it. I laughed when Kasey asked in someone could go down and ask Hendrick Motorsports if they could use some of their stuff. Kenny said it wasn't compatible.

Maybe, but "wrong brake fluid" stuck out. Either way, no one was happy about it!

brake fluid.. about a sponsor.. i would love to hear you explain this scenario...cuz it doesnt make sense.. why would it have anything to do with a sponsor??
whatever brake fluid sponsor they have ill will bet a hundred brakes makes the same brake fluid as the other competitors.. how else would they make enough money to sponsor a car?? if they even have a brake fluid sponsor..

Sorry, but... sponsor or not, it is ridiculous to force a team to run equipment (or fluid, etc.) that doesn't work.

Winning is tough enough without setting your people up to fail.getting set up to fail.

This doesn't make any sense to me. Why would they give them the wrong fluid if they want to keep the car in the top 20 in points. This is what Loomis said regarding Kasey being "sick":
"Kasey wasn't feeling good, and we're trying to keep the car in the top 20 in owner points, so we put Yeley in there," said Robbie Loomis, the competition director for Richard Petty Motorsports. "We're thankful to JJ for doing that."

Yeley got six points for the No. 9 team, which Loomis reiterated was helpful to the owner points battle a key goal for his organization, he said. Yeley began the race driving Tommy Baldwin Racing's No. 36 car but parked it after 73 laps.

Loomis, asked if Kahne could have been angry instead of sick, said: "Anytime you're a competitor and you just spin out and end up getting damage and the car tore up, you don't like that. I just hope he gets feeling better. He's got a fundraiser in the morning he's got a 5(k) run, so I hope he's feeling better in the morning."

They should have given the team the right one!?

I am not even sure if I will turn next week's race on. Brakes are the biggest issue at Martinsville and Kasey always seems to have brake problems there so what happened this week doesn't set up a lot of confidence for Martinsville. The only thing I am looking forward to the rest of the year is Homestead when he will be running the Nationwide race. It will be nice to see him put in a car that the team is actually trying to win in.

Honestly I think I would rather see him run a full time Nationwide schedule next season in a Hendrick car and go for a championship then ride around mid pack in a Red Bull car.

So Kasey actually was physically sick after the wreck, throwing up...which doesn't surprise me now because the vibrations did make him dizzy/ill last time too (I think it was Dover, actually). Kasey didn't want to name names but he said an RPM employee told him he "needed to start doing his part" and Kasey retorted with "YOU need to start doing yours". Buuuurn! How insulting is that to tell him he's not working his ass off. We know he's working his ass off based on the way he completely loses his marbles alone.

Robbie Loomis can say they want that car in the top 20 all he wants, but Kasey's had so many absurd parts failures since he's announced he's leaving it's ridiculous.

Did any of you guys read Robbie Loomis' comments today? He basically just threw Kasey under the bus!

To me he basically said that Kasey has some growing up to do in a round about way. I won't say he is completely wrong either. Kasey could have handled it better but Loomis seems to be forgetting that RPM could have done better by Kasey. Since he has been there he has managed to carry the team and run well overall (with the exception of the misery that was 2007) while the organization has given him no stability with constant changes at the top and mergers.

Through all that Kasey has made the chase twice and won races. No other RPM driver has won or made the Chase. Now they are very quick to throw him under the bus and think that AJ is so great. I guess it's what they have to do to move forward as an organization. I wish them nothing but the best but if they can't make their stuff reliable they swill never compete for titles. Look at 2009. Kasey had a great shot at being in the Chase until the end but was done in on the first green flag run of the first race by a blown engine. I can't even remember when the last time a Hendrick car lost an engine was.

Did anyone watch Nascar Now tonght. All the guys thought that Kasey had been treated badly and Ray even said the owed him an apology. I know he will never get one. I just want him to do the best he can and get out of that place. I surprise Richard Petty is treating him this way since Kasey greatly admires him. He needs to finish the best he can and look forward to good things in the future without the RPM drama

I haven't heard anything about Richard Petty (himself) treating Kasey badly, but RPM people are practically starring in their own made-for-cable show...(okay, that was catty of me...)

However, I am seriously *unimpressed* with RPM as a whole, and wonder what those in racing think of this company as far as potential employers go. I know that where I live, there are certain employers that have a terrible reputation, and most people only apply there out of desperation, and once they have a chance to switch to a better employer, they are gone.

Anyway, not only is Kasey being dumped under the bus in a bad way for leaving, it seems to me that he hasn't even been thanked for everything he HAS done. They have had 4 major ownership beginnings/changes since they started (Evernham, Gillette, Petty, Yates) and it has only been 4 or 5 years!!!(I can't remember exactly when Ray started up EMS.) That many changes in 5 decades might be okay, but in 5 years??? You have got to be kidding me!!!

(I admit this is poorly written, but I'm insulted in a general sense and in a hurry, to boot!)

He's the only one on that team that's won anything. 11 points-paying races and 2 non-points races. 13 RACES with this team (all levels of it!) and they don't even thank him. Instead they throw him under the bus and practically insult him to his face.

I was hearing that Marcos Ambrose was actually worrying he made the wrong decision in signing with RPM because of the way Kasey is running and everything. I can't remember where I read it, but he was apparently telling some media person about it.

It's so good to hear that the media people are on Kasey's side about this whole thing and think RPM is treating him dirty. I agreed completely with Ray. I mean, who would know how Kasey works better than his former team owner (and friend)?

Maybe Kasey could've handled Saturday night better. But after throwing up and then being called out (possibly in front of your team) by an RPM person, I don't necessarily blame him. "Do your part" - still makes me mad. Jeff Gluck's article said it best: how can you quit on someone when they've already quit on you?

The part where Loomis implied that Kasey is having a hard time dealing with adversity both made me laugh and made me angry. This guy has had to deal with more adversity in his entire Cup career than probably any other driver. He's dealt with it just fine. But when he feels he's being mistreated and calls them out on it, he's not able to handle adversity? He doesn't care because he's moving on? Shut the hell up.
