If i recall, when Jr. first came along in nascar, he was thought to be one of the next great drivers. Why? Not because of his name. No, it was because of his success in the Busch series. Champion 2 times and dominated for years. When he came into nascar, he rolled right along, and in his first few seasons accumulated 15 wins. That was what everyone thought would be the real Jr. Winning alot and being competitive. Then things began to go bad for him. he went on long race win droughts, the cot, the fighting with his mom(step), moving to a new team. These things all have contributed to Whoknows how many internal issues and problems that no one sees and or hears about. Lately Jr has been riding around on his NAME, but remember he was successful in the early stages of his career-anyone could not do what he did without talent.
But, the time has come for him to put up or shut up. This car of today cant be driven like the old car was driven. He has to learn how to communicate to chief and crew and learn how to drive this car. Otherwise, he will continue to spiral downward. He is an earnhardt for sure, but his my way or the highway approach, like his dad was, will only cause him more ill handling cars, bad finishes, and fans wondering where their once prosperous driver has gone.
He needs to fix all the internal issues, get his head screwed on straight, and start driving again like the Jr. everyone fell in love with (Jr. Nation)...to be continued...
Great post, Brannon. I fully agree.

Tell that to his current GF. Maybe Jr can take a lesson on how to be a one woman man. I believe Kyle is handsome, JMHO. You only see the angry side of Kyle on the track, you don't see the other side.
If Junior wanted a steady GF, he would have one.

Yes I have hotpass and what I heard week in and week out is that Junior can't give his crew chief proper feed back on what the car needs and how is is handling. Even the announcers have commented on his feedback.
I think that if Junior started giving feedback to his crew chief then maybe the car could be fixed to get into the top 5. But, until he learns how to give feedback it doesn't matter who is sitting on the pit box the results will be the same.
Sadly, I like Junior and think that way too many people have put pressure on him to be like his father and he just wants to be himself.
Each week I read the Scene magazine and more and more 88 fans are writing in with comments that aren't always favorable to Junior.
As far as Kyle goes - maybe he could have kept his mouth shut, but, at least Kyle can back up his mouth and put it out there on the track. The young man can drive and will break a lot of records before he is through. JMO

did i blame anyone for jr.s talent or lack there of? No

i didn't make excuses nor will i, i listen as i said, many comments on here,on twitter and ip regarding my disdain for jr. throwing a race, or seeming to, as i consider sportsmanship more than wins, more than titles.. jr is working not playing as many see this as a game it's a business. he has to pay to play and he has to gross profit to sell or be sold, sadly he may well be on the last lap, even still he is out there now and maybe just maybe this will get him moving or making that last move.

i didn't remark to insight a riot on here simply trying to reason with some who aren't exactly reasonable, many expect respect, for their driver or their opinion yet they never learned to show any.

my number one driver based on loyalty is junior ,win or lose, like when you get married, for better or worse.

don't need a champion ship jersey to make me proud, just showing takes mega talent and lots of money, who among us can be so lucky?

whomever wins the race always gets my props on here and rarely do i slander other posters or insult them, i will maintain my integrity but will never be owned by some troll or child who has yet to learn to use their words properly..tunnel vision is dangerous and indicative of mental maturity.

Explain to me how going to Gibbs wasn't good for Kyle. Why be jealous of a place that was not suiting your needs? Frankly, he's winning and he's knows he's good.
What probably pisses him off is the fact that people still throw shyt on the track when he takes the lead. Yeah, he said it was raining at Lowes when it wasn't, then he said, it's raining beer cans. Who wants to take bets on whose fans are throwing shyt at him still. Spitting at him when he goes to get the checkered flag? Give me a break, that drives me crazy, that a subpar driver gets the attention he does, and all because of his name.
And Kyle should be happier then hell he's at Gibbs now. But nope, he still needs to make snide comments about Junior and last year, he even made comments to include all the drivers. He holds a grudge. And his fans, who obviously feel that we should all just be in awe of his talent, can't get that through their heads.

I don't condone Kyle getting crap thrown at him, but that's what people are going to do to you when you act like he does. If he changed his attitude, that would all go away. Oh, an FYI for you, it's not just Junior fans that dislike Kyle, so I highly doubt that it is just Junior fans throwing crap at him. I think it comes down to the fact that Kyle is winning at yet Junior still has more fans and gets more attention. And it's not just because of his last name.

Any of you hear what Steve Byrnes said right before qualifying????? I about died laughing. Should convince some folks that once again, it isn't just Junior fans who have issue with what comes out of Kyle's mouth sometimes.

Hahaha. Sure, Sure. Kyle can be quite sarcastic at times, which is what I got out of his comments. At least he doesn't hang around midpack.

You Kyle fans are a special breed. You all think that because he can drive a car, that gives him a pass to act how he wants. FYI, Kyle wasn't being sarcastic. He was sincere.

But then again, Nascar isn't about how much money you make. That doesn't win you championships.

And 13 million is a lot of money for a 24 year old.

I don't think you should be in awe of his talent, I think you should respect it. I don't like Jimmie Johnson all that much but he's talented and I respect that. I don't like Carl's behavior, his two faced BS, but I respect that the man can drive.

Frankly, you're still talking about a 24 year old kid who will mature over time. Hell Tony still gets snarky on occasion. People don't rip him a new one for it. As long as Kyle's backing it up, I don't care if he seems arrogant. It is what it is. That boy can drive and that's all that matters.

This isn't a popularity contest, this isn't about being PC. This is about racing hard and winning. If you're not out there to do either then go home and let the people who mean it go out there and race. There are many guys who'd give anything to have a ride and then there's guys like Jr who are content to cruise in the middle of the pack because he's just having "fun".

Maybe that's the most annoying part. If he didn't have his last name, if he didn't come from that family, would he be driving for Hendrick? I honest to God don't think so.

I never said Kyle didn't have talent. It's just that it's hard to take him seriously when he says crap like this.

Junior isn't in the sport to just have fun. He is there to win races and championships. He isn't content to run midpack or he would have remained at DEI for the duration of his career.

So, did Junior get those 18 wins because of his last name?????? No, in fact, I think he got them because he can drive a racecar. I've seen it. He may be at Hendrick if he had a different last name or he may not. It's a moot point to argue about. He was born with this name and there isn't anything he can do about it.

He's jealous because he's not the most popular driver, he doesn't have the same fan base and he doesn't sell nearly the amount of products that Jr sells. He can cry all he wants, but it just points out to Shrub being jealous. Sure, he's been better on the track, but he will NEVER have the fan base because of his attitude.

I'm also getting tired of the total excuse that "he's young". BS !!!! There are drivers younger than Shrub who have more maturity in their pinkie than Shrub has in his whole body. Look how Logano handles himself, and he's only 19 !!! The youngster excuse needs to go away now.

Why would Kyle want to be the most popular? Most popular don't win you squat, and it sure don't win you talent.

It's all good.

I actually find it funny that everyone celebrated Tony being snarky again, and WAIT!!! KYLE'S NOT ALLOWED TO BE!

Straight Forward and to the point. Nascar is too PC these days and frankly it gets old.

This is not a popularity contest, this isn't about driver's attitudes, this is about winning. And JR ISN'T WINNING!! Sorry that drives people crazy.

And I think there are some people on here who behave badly and have no room to judge him.

Fact is, he's winning, he's winning a lot and that's why people don't like him. They didn't like Jimmie when he was winning, they'll move on when it's someone else. And as long as people keep throwing things at Kyle, he'll keep giving them the respect they deserve. And that's none.

Respect is a two way street, and it all began at when Jr Nation thought that Kyle wrecked Jr on purpose. Then they got disrespectful. Guess who got disrespectful in return.
