Of course he deserves praise. Most people though if he gained patience he could do so much better because they saw him wreck a lot of cars at Hendrick. Wrong. Patience is not a virtue. "Rowdy" Busch was just as out of control as usual and still was one of the "Big 3" drivers of the 2008 season along with Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson. Combined, those 3 loomed over the rest of the field all year. Yes, Busch collapsed at the end of the season, but if he improves on the flat tracks, he will win a championship sooner rather than later.

It also goes without saying that Busch deserves a pat on the back for running as many races as he did -- in all 3 series. That may have been a factor down the stretch, but I highly doubt it.

The fact of the matter is that no matter how many people hate him, the kid simply goes out there and drives his heart out. And last year, he proved a majority of his haters wrong, dominating NASCAR even though he didn't come away with one championship.

Kyle Bush is a great young driver, much in the mold of the past great drivers who had the car control and ability to impose their will on a car that was less than great. Kyle Bush had his year with Gibb's racing showing the true structure of the Hendrick organization as being one of a Cass System where all the cars might look equal, however, were NOT equal with at least one team being the R&D car for the others. Fat Rick Hendrick has provided sub standard cars for the likes of Schrader, Bush and Mears in the name of development for the primary teams of Gordon, Johnson and Joonyer. Kyle Bush will have a great career, unless he takes that big one like has happened to people like Darrel Waltrip and Bill Elliott and gets hurt and can no longer drive the car ten tenths.
Right now the top three drivers in Cup are Johnson, Edwards and Bush. I hope that the transition from Stewart to Lagano does not impose big problems at JGR and that Hamlin can grow into the senior driver and anchor of the team.

Fans that love racing and not just particular drivers GET Kyle. The raw talent of driving anything by the seat of his pants is amazing to watch. Just like Dale, fans will say they didn't root for him to win, but they were always watching to see where that #3 was on the track. I'm hearing the same thing now. Your guy might be in the lead, but you're looking back to see how fast the #18 is charging to the front. Kyle has put been the first since we lost Dale to put some real racing back into NASCAR. Carl is another one that doesn't want to be first loser. Love watching both of them go all out. Daddy Hendricks can keep his vanilla, by the book, PC drivers. I've always liked the bad boys and I'll stick with them

The only thing Shrub needs to make him the "best" driver in NASCAR is a better personality. As much as I dislike the guy, I have to admit, right now he is the best wheel man in NASCAR. There is no one out there that can and will take an ill handling car and does as much with it as he can. If Logano comes close to being as good, he better bring his best game from day one.
