Notice all the empty seats for saturday nites Nascar race at Joliet? I believe that if Nascar doesnt get the C.O.T. where more than just a few drivers can get it to run well and put on a good show, the races at the "cookie cutter" race tracks will continue to suffer. Its not all the economys fault.People want more for their 200plus dollars a seat. Even moving the race to nite time didnt help bring in more fans. And the race was so boring what fans that were there filed out before the crashes at the end. The need to either resurface or refigure those types of tracks is NOW. You cant make a 3500# race car run on a track of that design. Think about it?How many GOOD races have you ever seen at "cookie cutter" racetracks? They have always been follow the leader races and still are. Nascar made everyone use the C.O.T. car to remedy their problem by giving owners and engineers head aches when in reality the TRACK OWNERS should be changing the tracks themselves,instead of passing the buck to the teams. Now that the track owners pocket books are being affected something might be done.
