NASCAR Notebook: Gordon, Bowyer tangle at Phoenix

Jeff Gordon got into Clint Bowyer on the track. Bowyer's crew got into it with Gordon in the pits.

They parked Kyle last year for wrecking Hornaday and he only wrecked him. Not 2 other guys. Don't be shocked though when NASCAR does something like make Gordon start from the back of the pack. You know, real punishment.

When a Hendrick driver out of contention (Gordon) wrecks a Waltrip driver in contention (Bowyer) right in front of a Penske driver who's leading the Chase (Keslowski), you can't help but wonder if "team instructions" (favoring Johnson) were not "in play"!!

And that last lap melee ..... ridiculous!! Danica was very fortunate not to come away injured with the hit she took as a "sitting duck"!! Makes it look like NASCAR was in a big rush to "get it over with"!!

If they wanted Brad crashed he would've been crashed .. Bad Brad cannot remember what he done to Edwards at daga. 210 MPH into the catch fence . He definitely has no room to talk his nasty comments about this incident. To the OP I disagree. Gordon needs to wreck him again!! He still won't be even with Boyer since Boyer took Jimmy and Gordon out when Gordon had the Virginia short track beat. I agree about the cation should have been thrown for the number ten car ..

No they shouldn't do anything to Jeff considering the other times Clint wrecked him this season especially Martinsville. All of your all time fav Earnhardt Sr would have wrecked Clint a long time ago and nothing was ever done to him. Jeff has no history of wrecking people unless madly provoked. Clint has shown that is straight Garbage.

Bowyer got into Gordon first so if they make Jeff sit then clint should too and bowyers pit crew should be fired for what they done and bowyer runni g up to the trailer where Gordon was uncalled for if Jeff gets pit out clint should to and even if they continue to race at homestead bowyers crew should be all new people

I think NASCAR will always favor the larger pocketbook, Hendrick has it. The fiasco at Phoenix would have been quite different if Jimmy was still in first place. Do you really think the mess would have happened right in front of Brad if he wasnt leading the chase..

What, too stupid to see the difference? I didn’t know Jeff was on probation and warned for his behavior multiple times this year like Kyle was last year. Do you know something nobody else knows, did the voices in your small mind tell you something that wasn’t true. I also didn’t know Jeff wrecked Clint under caution, I thought it was under green. I also didn’t know that the incident occurred in another series, I thought Jeff and Clint were both in Sprint cup and not a sprint cup driver beating up on a driver 2 series below him.

Gordon might as well be running in a caution. He was black flagged and refused to come in. That's worse. Gordon is such a whinner. Every car out there gets bumped or run into. Gordon just things he owns the place and nobody should mess with him. If he can't take it anymore he ought to quick.

Oh Pleeease, people. It wasn't like Jeff just decided to dump dumba** for no reason. It not smart to screw with someone when you have more to lose than he does. Nobody begged Clint to run Jeff up the drag against the wall and then clip him again. Not that Clint had a chance in hell to win the championship in that MWR POS. It's not going to break Jeff to pay a little fine and lose some points with one race to go. Clint just needs to remember theres plenty more where that came from.
