Toughest lesson for Danica Patrick after 2 NASCAR races: results won't come easily _ or soon
One of the toughest lessons Danica Patrick has learned after two NASCAR races is that the desired results won't come easy - or soon.

She did what was expected of her. Game plan went as planned

I agree with you completely. Despite all the media hype, the team expects nothing more than to gain experience on the track in a stock car. You don't just jump into a new form of racing and start running up front. You gain experience and try to make improvements over time. We saw her doing a better job from the start of the race until the end at Fontana and that's really what any team/owner wants to see from someone new to stock cars. If she happens to get a good finish here or there, than that's always a bonus, but the mission here is a learning one.
I'm one of those who have some doubt about her ever being a true competitor in Nascar, but as of now, I think things are right on track for what they want to see out of her. I'm not saying I want to see here fail, but I do have some question about her talent level. Who knows, maybe she'll prove me wrong. If she does, it would certainly be big for Nascar to have a woman not only racing with the guys, but being competitive. I don't see how that could be anything but good for the sport. Well, I can see some negatives, but mostly in how she's marketed, not in having a woman competing on the track.

While I still support Danica on some levels I must say that what we have seen so far in two Nation Wide races is that Danica is no more ready for Nation Wide competition than she is ready to fly without a plane.
Danica looked lost, timid and out of place. She has never driven anything that needed the corrective imput from the steering wheel that a full bodied stock car requires. I do think that she is honest in her imput to the crew when she stated that she did NOT know what she needed from the car. Danica might, ONE DAY, become a stockcar driver, however, starting her in the next to top level with no experience and no real natural talent for this type of racing is just an act of cashing in on her popularity rather than attempting to make her a stockcar driver.
