I don't think there were too many fans leaving early because Jr. was still in contention. As soon as he crashes or blows up, you can start to see large bare spots in the stands. Those aren't fans of racing and anyone stupid enough to not wait out the finish on Sunday, missed a great one. I can never understand people who spend big money to get to a race and then walk out before it's over. Fans of partying maybe, but not racing. IF the announcers don't down play their love fest with Danica, they're going to even turn off the fans that are rooting for her. I was gagging after 15 min. My son is rooting for her and after 10 min. of it on Sunday, he got what I meant. Someone is always going to be bitching no matter what NASCAR does so just wait and your turn will come to bitch or praise them.

Felt it was a paid advertisement.Understantably NASCAR is hurting ,Just like the rest of the country. What about the small tracks ,that are the backbone of NASCAR.They have a hard time getting teams to fill the cards because of the cost, not only to run a car ,but also to pay the fee to be able to get into the pits to be on a team!Local tracks pay very little .who can afford to run!

Anyone trying to make a living as a race promoter today that doesn't own the track free and clear is going to live very meager. The unemployed don't do much racing or race attending, on big or small tracks. With the umemployment at 10 plus percent and most of those are blue collars workers that are the backbone of race attendance, that's a major hit. Throw in the down turn in race attendance for other reasons and without the gate it's really hard for the promoter to pay decent purses. Without decent purses and hard times at home, more and more of the low buck boys stay at home instead of going racing. The local tracks here in central North Carolina last year were running fields with about two thirds the number of cars that were showing up 3 or 4 years ago. The best facility in our area has changed promoters 3 times in the last 4 years and may not open this spring. Yeah, the boys on t.v. try to paint the prettiest picture they can, they have a vested interest.

WHAT IS DW, DALE JR'S PERSONAL REP? I AM SO SICK OF HIM AND HIS CONSTANT JUNE BUG COMMENTS. THERE ARE 42 OTHER CARS OUT THERE EACH WEEK, HOW ABOUT GIVING SOMEONE ELSE A LITTLR AIR TIME.
