I hate to say it but, I think what most have been saying is true: ES doesn't seem to have that spark for racing like he used to have.
In this interview (like all the others I've seen or read lately), it's just the same "generic" words. Then, he talks about family - which is fine, but where's the drive to drive?(sorry I couldn't think of another way to say it.
I hate the idea that he may not be in a ride next year! Does anyone think he MIGHT go to Nationwide or Truck?

man she really has changed him...they say it cant be done but she actually did it!!!! man i wish i could take pointers from her...(cant believe i just said that) in the begining things were ok cause it was new then he settled in and now doesnt care... i know we blame her and dont like her(i know im not a big fan of hers) but what the hell else is going on????? all drivers even if you suck or dont have a great sponsor say like kenny wallace, or someone like that...they kill for rides and when they have one they take it all for what they can, dont complain and run there hearts out hoping something will come along...with E he'll be lucky if something does come along!!! has she gone that far to make him not care anymore...was his mom's illness a kick in his ass saying racing isnt everything??? What the hell...we are his fans and stick by him but WE WANNA KNOW WHATS GOING ON!!!!!

Whatever the reason, he needs to buck up and make a decision. Drive with some enthusiasm or leave.

Imagine you're at work. You decide to go to meetings every once in awhile but when you go you just sit there and daydream. You have little to no idea how the equipment at your desk works. All you do is whine and complain to your 'supervisor' that your office is too cold, or too hot, your computer is slow, etc. All you do is talk with your spouse during the day. Some days, you don't show up but you go fishing and shopping and drinking and then you post these activities on the internet for ALL the world to see.

You basically decide to show up twice a week - maybe three times a week depending on circumstances (like whether or not your spouse has time off).

THEN when you show up, you complain and just sit there and do nothing. You seem to settle for mediocrity ("OOPS - sorry I forgot to do half the work you assigned to me!") and you get away with it AND get paid A LOT of money (by our standards) to be mediocre.

How many of us would STILL have a job?????????

That's all I have to say ...

Here's a Talladega Elliott Sadler race preview:

During pre-race interviews give the same old lines about how he really needs a good finish and he is proud of his team for all their hard work and effort and he thinks they have made some good changes.

During pre-race ceremonies make sure that when the cameras pan to you and your Nascar hating wife, you give a fake smile and put your arm around her and pretend that you want her to be there with that pissed off look on her face.

During the race continue to go back, back, backwards all the while whining to your team about how the car isn't any good when you know in your head that it is you that has lost your racing mojo.

During post-race interviews, if they bother to interview you, make sure you tell the media that you and your team tried your best, it just didnt go your way and you are looking forward to the next race where we should see some improvement.

Next race, repeat.

yea, I'd like to have his "mis fortune!" Sit on my ass and whine, whine, whine--all while they pay me a hundred times what I'm worth (to do a job that is entertainment--at best), while everyone else in the country wonders if they'll be working tomorrow--POOR BABY!!

You forgot the all important remark:
"... but we've really learned alot today. We'll be able to take what we've learned here today and improve our car next week."
Yea, right.

Yeah. It looks like his publicist would improve on his little speech he gives every week. LOL I don't hate Elliott. He is super fine and that accent makes my knees turn to butter. But he'd be better suited running one of his businesses or being a nude model. I prefer the latter.

Doing what? Whining? yes. Winning? no He should give his fans something to cheer about. If it's not gonna be his racing performance then he should just take his clothes off and streak up and down pit road. LOL

I doubt he'd go to Nationwide or Truck (doubt they would have him - that wasn't meant to be mean). Also, he's been there and done that. If he was 10 yrs. younger - he could probably run all 3 series (partials) for "seat time." But, at this stage of the game he's got 11 yrs. of seat time. If he were 10 yrs. older he could probably do it for fun (like DW, etc.). The rest of the year will be interesting.
