Letarte finally gives Jeff a fast car and screwed it up still. He knew the 48 team had put 4 tires on before they even took off their own right side tires n the 24. Plus with these double file restarts maybe the worse they would have been after a 4 tire stop is 5th...sick of it.

Would love to talk to Gordon and just ask him, are you going to let loyalty to Steve keep you from winning??? How many years have to come and go with just one win, before you realize Steve cannot fine tune a chassic. Its every race that Gordon will start off strong and then after a pit it starts down hill. The guys in the booth see it and somewhat question adjustments.
Send Steve to R&D with Eury Jr and hire Ray Everham back> Ray said on Speed last season he would return if Jeff or Rick called him!!!!!!!

Jeff better get used to it he has a better driver than him in the same equipment and setup information as he has. My opinion is Dale Sr and Mark Martin are both better drivers than him but their teams and equipment were not near as good as his. If anyone doubts this then why did Mark win more races and finish higher in the points than he did last season and I would not doubt he does the same this season.

Jeff is just as talented as Jimmie. The weak link on the 24 team is Steve Letarte. He isn't as technically knowledgeable or as cool headed as Chad Knaus. Jimmie and Jeff both can tell their crew chief exactly what the car is doing but the big difference in their performance is what the crew chief does with that information. The problem with the 88 car is the driver can't correct tell the crew chief what the car is doing. Mark Martin is an outstanding driver but not a great driver. Twenty plus years with some of the best crew chiefs in the business proves that statement. He's a great driver with a great crew chief with the best resources so he's going to win a few but not a championship.

Jeff Gordon would be the first to admit that Mark Martin is as good as anyone he's raced against...Did you forget 1990 when Mark was robbed the Cup? or all the pitstop screw-ups that cost him all those race wins over the years?...or all those wrecks started by non-driving boneheads taking him out of contention with them? or what about the blown motors and broken rear ends or the stupid calls from buffoons like Pat Tryson or Ben Leslie? or what about the fact that the jerk in the hat started 5 teams instead of concentrating on Mark's team first and foremost? Need I remind you that Mark won 5 championships racing against THE BEST in the business including DALE EARNHARDT in IROC (equal cars and no pitstops) and 4 championships in ASA before coming to NASCAR

Mark Martin has the worst luck when it comes to Cup...don't ask me why, I haven't a clue.

A lot of what you're throwing in as excuses sound like what happens to all the drivers. They've all been caught up in wrecks someone else caused or blown an engine. Big whoop. IROC, please give me a break. Why didn't he close the deal when he was the show at Jack Roush Racing? Why didn't he close the deal last year? please, enough excuses. The man has been plugging along at it in NASCAR since 1981. Ask your hero where he disappeared to in 84. There's a couple of years there that he'd rather not talk about for a good reason. Lots of folks say he's the greatest driver to never win a champisnship. The reality of that statement is that makes him the biggest loser of all time.
