I would attend races regularly. I would much rather put my money into local events than drive to Michigan and Indianapolis for my racing fix.
Nascar has many levels of racing and having a big name like Gordon can draw other big names to the track. There is another very successful track being run in Eldora by Tony Stewart that could be a similar draw.
They could place a racetrack around columbus... oh wait, 670 was done a few years ago......
I agree that a high quality race track in Columbus is great idea. We live in Franklin county and regularly drive to the historical Eldora Speedway in the summer for the quality racing offered at a good value.

Let's face it, unless Ohio State wants to put a track in, it won't happen in this town, not big time city!

isn't the area over by cooper stadiudm a big "crak alley"? my husband used to drive a truck in columbus, and said that was one of the nastier places he had to go. maybe putting a race track there would clean the area up.

I am about 70 miles east and I think a Nascar track in the Columbus area is a wonderful idea. It will generate revenue and jobs will be created to boost the economy in the area. It has to be a win, win situation. We travel to other states to see races and I would definately drive to Columbus to see Nascar events. I am also for the Casino that is coming. Its crazy that Ohioans that attend Nascar events and gamble have to go to another state to do so. I gamble and WV, PA and Indiana get my money. Why not put it back into Ohio? We can all benefit from this....

Let's see just how two faced Coleman and Council can be. They didn't blink when people living around Polaris(Germain)Amphitheater were assulted by unwanted noise; afer all, they didn't vote in Columbus elections. I wonder if Columbus voters will receive the same level of concern?
Everyone always forgets what came first and why Polaris is Polaris. The Amphitheater called Polaris came first...then all of the building....the people were idiots for building there if didn't like and Coleman is an idiot for siding with them...then again that is par for the course with Coleman

NASCAR in Cbus would be the best thing for the area. If you have never been to a race you have no opinion. The people who say they don't like the noise or they don't like NASCAR, and they will not vote for it but they want the economy to improve, tell us what would bring in more revenue then this.
