Gordon narrowly misses 5th Indy win

Jeff Gordon ran out of laps on his way to history. Seeking a record fifth win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which also would have been his 85th in the Sprint Cup Series to move into third on the all-time win list, Gordon came about two laps short of accomplishing those goals.

if the 24 had pitted under the last caution with Kyle Bush, the 24 would have won. Another race Allen Gus. causes Jeff to lose. But look out for the 24.

If Jeff had stop on the last caution he would have finished even further back. He had all the fuel he needed and way fresher tires than Paul. That bonzai run from 15th place took its toll on those tires though and by the time he got into second he wasn't any faster than Paul. It was a great effort, just too much to make up.
