I guess if I were Knaus I'd ask to be paid twice as much as the highest paid crew chief in NASCAR.

If Hendrick wants him to be Jr's crew chief, Knaus should be paid ten times as much as the next highest paid crew chief in NASCAR.

At a time where budgets are cut how on earth could anyone offer a competitive wage with the big 3 or 4 teams.

I don't think the financial part is really going to be much of a sticking point in any contract extension. Rick will give Chad what he deserves I'm sure. It's just a matter of how much longer Chad wants to work the kind of hours and pace required by a crew chief of today in Nascar. Chad being a workaholic too, makes you wonder how much longer he wants to keep that kind of pace up. I think he still desires to do it for a few years, but not sure if he wants to go all the way through 2015 to match Jimmie's contract. If he does sign for that long, I think we'll see him wrap up his role as crew chief at the end of that contract. The question then will be, does he remain with HMS in some capacity? Or does he move on to some form of TV career as some have suggested?

Chad will go from crew chief to management role at Hendrick when he is ready. Mr Hendrick is crazy about the guy and will basically give him whatever he wants to keep him. The issue is Chad's personal life, soon to be wife, child etc comes and changes his life. That will be when he slows down.

Chad Knaus will go from crew chief to team owner when he's ready, probably as an affiliate team like Stewart Haas but Chad will start his own team. Why should Chad give a sh*t about a 300 thousand a year management job when can own his own teams? I see this as the last extension Chad takes with HMS before he goes solo. If Jimmie is smart he will partner up with him on the team ownership.

I don't think that NASCAR favors the man as much as you may think, they did bust his ass. Nobody seems to understand or figure out nascar's rules and regulations. They are changed alot or so it seems. I would hate to be a CC in that business and try to figure out the game.

Anything new about Knaus's contract, will he renew as CC or take a management position?
Why did he postpone his marriage?
