NASCAR is wondering why attendance and interest is falling. The Hendricks Team can do whatever they want and NASCAR turns its head. They have a free pass. When Toyota was kicking rear end, they had to cut horsepower to allow Hendricks Team to win. Ford has all but dropped out of racing and GM is cutting support, attendance has dropped and NASCAR still can't figure it out.

The yuppies have come and gone and the people that are true fans don't like the new politically correct version of the good old days. Real NASCAR fans are those rednecks from the hill where it got it's beginning. Let the boys be boys, fight it out in the infield, swap paint and go as fast as you can make the car go.

Those are some good points. The more controlled Nascar is the more boring it gets.

I'd love to hear what this crowd of whiny ass crybabies would say about a season where one driver won 10 races in a row and 27 in that same season. How about a season where the driver won the championship by 722 points over 2nd place or races where the driver won by 6 laps or modern era cup races with only 22 cars in the field. Hey, these are just odds and ends from ordinary racing. Since the day my father took me to my first race I've heard the P & M crowd. I think the article pretty much hits the reasons that people whine about Jimmie, the main one being he is kicking the living sh*t out of their driver and their man doesn't have the talent to do anything about it even if Jimmie has to drive with two broken arms.

Those are even better points. We all know that what Whoyakidding said is true. The only difference is that Jimmie doing what he's doing, makes some people unable to admit it. Nascar is just fine.

All this talk about the attendance going down is way overblown. It was just a scant few years ago that Nascar attendance wasn't anywhere near what we see now. If we lose those that choose to whine and bitch, than so be it. There are still plenty of fans to keep it going. A hell of a lot more than pretty much anyone would have anticipated just 15/20 years ago. Besides, if Jimmie having the success that he's having is bringing Nascar down, than good riddance. I'd rather it didn't exist than exist with a fan base that can't appreciate excellence.
