Rain gives Atlanta pole to Johnson

Another week, another rainout. And, oh, by the way: another pole for Jimmie Johnson.

I think it has been an interesting year. We have had different winners. Kyle got lost in transistion. JJ bounced back. JG, well I feel sorry for him. Jr won and is in the chase. So is my second choice Clint. It has been a good year even though some races were boring.

I do like Jimmie but what do you think of turning the feild arround? Like say, start the 55 on the pole and the top 12 in the back? Only down side is all the crashes they would have to get past in one piece.

Why don't they just hand it over to Jimmie already. I'm sorry, but it's not fair that Jimmie gets the best pit stall for, what, 3 weeks in a row now? It's one thing if he qualified on the Pole, but to just give it to him. Whatever.

If they were under the old system Jimmie would still be leading but Kyle would be in second about 40 back. The rest would be pretty close to the same spot they're in now.

Yeah, but in the previous races, he's had a tremendous advantage having that first pit stall. He leaves the pits in the 1st postion and has clean air...so it's hard for the other cars to beat him. That's not exactly entertaining racing.

Maybe they should have the guys draw for postion during rain-outs. Keep the top 12 up front, but jumble them up.

Getting the first stall is an advantage but it doesn't always work out for the driver. What would be the point in jumbleing the 12 up front. They get that way as the race goes on.

Yeah, but for pit selection. At some of these tracks, it's really important.

I don't know, didn't they do that for a short time? I remember they used to have qualifying on Fri. and them secondary qualifying on Sat. I don't know why they don't do it now. The teams would have to be there one less day too. Maybe the tracks lost money when it was that way.
