Safety team erred dealing with crash of De Silvestro
The Izod IndyCar Series' safety team did not follow protocol in rescuing driver Simona De Silvestro after a fiery crash earlier this month at Texas Motor Speedway, series officials said Wednesday.

It was painful and scary to watch on TV also. Maybe more research on cockpit design should be done to make it easier for the driver to get out on their own. You have to be a Ringling Bros. contortionist to get out of one of those things.
