You should really just fess up to what you're REALLY talking about, which is that a top 10-12 place team has a better shot at pulling off a complete fluke with 10 races. Thats the BEST you can argue towards the topic of which is easier - a FLUKE.
THATS WHAT I"VE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG! FINALLY!!!! More than half of the chases were a fluke.

And when you get back to reality and you're done praying to the superstition gods that somehow all the top 9 teams will have 10 bad races, which is even less likely than this sub-par team having 10 good ones, maybe you'll realize your biased opinion doesn't hold up to the truth.
The person in 12th going into chase 1 doesnt have to have "10 good races" to become champion. They only have to score more points than the next guy. Over the last 5 years #48 has set the pace with a 155-160 point average throughout the 10 chase races. The benchmark is set at a top 5 average throughout the chase to become champ, really no different than the average points per race needed to be champ in the late 90's early 00's u just only have to do it in less races.

I'd be embarrassed if I were you; your comments are coming out more illogical every time. First you say, "IT is much harder to remain consistant through longer periods" and I don't even need to touch that. Now you say more than half the chases are a fluke, which by definition: "Unlikely chance occurrence, esp. a surprising piece of luck" suggests its rare and 5 in a row is more than substantial evidence to prove you wrong. And the third time's a charm: The person in 12th place only has "to score more points than the next guy." LMAO

Okay and if you can manage that, you get 11th place. What about 1st thru 10th? LMAO

"A 12th place team will be, or closer to at least, a 12th place team at the end of a 36 race season than they would be at the end of a ten race season."

You're assuming 12th would have good races right out the gate, and then get worse over time. That's not always the case, though is it? So sorry but that logic doesn't stick since its equally possible he'd have bad races or finishes of about 12th.

lol It's really funny... lets keep going!

Bottom line, there is not a right or wrong answer to this debate. Only perspective, only opinion - and everyone is holding fast, no hint of concession on either side.
It's 4 days until Christmas - the time of year when we wish peace and goodwill to everyone in the world, except each other. Could we please just let it go, let it go, let it go?
I agree we all have stated our positions, and no minds are gonna change so its just best to agree to disagree.... Life is to short...lol

Oh I get it!! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snoww....*sings along in my head*

You're right - arguing the topic - there is no right or wrong answer for the most part. But somebody asked for proof of something, so I provided proof. I guess thats good enough, and there's no need to argue math with 1 person who clearly can't grasp the understanding. LOL

I was hoping readers would catch that. Now I hope it doesn't stay in your head - I hate when that happens.

You can attack me all you want but what you can't do is argue with the math OR the logic!! LMAO!! In fact, after every point you attempted was proven invalid or irrelevant, you probably should stick to attacking me. XD HAHAHA LMAOOL

This board needs cleaned up but there's little hope for it to happen.
