Well my dear friends I have a huge request. Please can you please say a bunch of prayers for my mom. They are running a bunch more tests on her next week. And if she has what they think she might I just dont know how I will deal with it. Just losing Dad and now this I honestly dont know what I will do.
Thank You all.
Will do, you will have the strength you need to support your mom. I know it. You are stronger than you know.

I'm with you Katie! Prayers and good thoughts to all who need them.

Have been busy and behind the past month! Have been to Mom's twice - 1st time for 5 days, 2nd time for 3 days. Roomie came for 2 days to help out w/ some maintenance issues.

Good report from all 3 dr.'s we went too. Vascular guy said she didn't need surgery or a stint. Neuro guy did another scan and all seemed well. Thought it was not a full stroke but TIA thing. Internist (sp) wants to put her on another med for high blood pressure and she decided to go to a geriatric guy for a 2nd opinion.

Mom is very weak (still) so I still have the caregivers w/ her. She just needs to eat regular and have them help her w/ some type of excercise routine to gain her strength back. I don't think she will come back to 100%, but given her age, all the meds, etc. it is doubtful. Part of the aging process.

Head of caregiver agency is an idiot. I've butted heads w/ him several (more than that) times. Mom let go another caregiver because when the head of agency was around - SHE acted like an idiot and said to Mom, "Oh - he just thinks everyone is family!" Out the door she went. He's not my family - he works for us!

Anyway, the guy is afraid of losing our business as there are 17 other agencies in the area who would love to have it. I had to set rules for him: you are not allowed in my Mother's bedroom, you must call and make an appt. w/ Mom when you are coming by to drop off a schedule etc.- no unannounced visits, no "going through" the schedule w/ Mom and invading her space (she can read), no touching under the guise of a friendly shoulder pat (How are you doing?- pat, pat). Yuck! Ish!

He also made a "round about" suggestion that I should check in w/ him when I am going to be @ Mom's. Huh?! She's my Mother. I told him it was nobody's business when I was there or not, roomie was there, etc. So far he is following the rules.

I must get caught up here (laundry, bills, work, etc.) and get some rest cuz if he pushes me once more - not pretty.

Thanks for listening and again, good thoughts and prayers for all of you! My "camp" is doing pretty well!

Good to hear from you Theo. Glad your mom is holding her own. How old is she? Also, I'm glad to hear there are other agencies if you're not satisfied with this one.
Saying prayers for you (this has got to be a lot of stress) and your mom. Take care of yourself, as well.

Thanks Mikey fan! Mom will be 82 next month. Yes - this whole deal is stressful. Starting tomorrow I'm going to be taking some time for myself. Might splurge on a pedicure and massage! Have a great day!

Theo, that is way too creepy. There are places to complain if needed. That is considered unprofessional behavior. So glad she is doing well. Good for you for seeking a second opinion.

YES! You may say anything you want to. I am claustrophobic and the thought of something like this makes me gag.

I had to put a towel over my eyes for my MRI's. So cool to see them come out of that hole.

I do OK with MRI's..the 2+ months trapped in the dark mine would have been the end of me!!

Continuing with prayers for all. If I don't get back on here before the weekend--everybody have a good and safe one!

Theo--how was that pedicure and massage??

Had to postpone the "spa" day until next week. Got a nasty sinus infection so am going in for a head massage today. Hate the drugs the dr.'s prescribe and the over the counter stuff doesn't work for me. So a more "natural" approach is better.

All have a great weekend!

Well got home from Moms a lil while ago. Was so sad to leave I cried most of the way home. We still dont know the results of her tests and hopefully the Dr will call tomorrow. Please keep praying for her for good news and hopefully they figure out whats going on. She had so much pain last night she couldnt sleep.

I know lil man is going to miss his Grammy. And she will miss him alot also. She is getting Daddys truck ready to sell. Thats gonna be hard to do. I wish I would have the money to give her because I would love to have that truck.

Hope everyone is doing good and in good health. Thinking of all my wonderful friends. Hugs to all.

Doing OK here. Thanks for asking. My friend's (Scott's widow) Dad has a bone biopsy today to see if his cancer is also in the bone. He has kidney cancer and some 'spots' on one of his lungs. If you remember, this is my friend who's mother passed away, 2-3 hours later than her husband, on the same day. That will be 2 years ago November 7th. Now, her dad is ill. She needs prayers for strength. She has accepted this and the ultimate final outcome. She says she can be there for her dad too. She's a nurse.."it's what I do." If it were me, I'd lose my mind.

My prayers for her and its tough as hell, believe me.
Yes, we are taught very early on to seperate yourself from illnesses and death. Death is part of the life cycle. I was the one to sign both of my parents DNR's as my sister could not do it.

wow..I know I won't be able to do that for my mother. I lost my stepfather 27 years ago yesterday (Oct 18th).

Thanks for the prayers.
