I heard on the news this morning that around 200 protesters were arrested at the RNC in Minneapolis over the weekend. If I remember right, cak got assigned to work security for that. We need to say our prayers for her safety.

Prayers continue to go out to all others, Theo, Phoenix and sassy4smoke. Our friend made it to the OSU-Youngstown State game on Saturday. It was sweltering hot(OK..for Ohio) and the stadium doesn't have much--if any--shade so they went back to the hotel after halftime. He made it up to the lake on Sunday..had his 80-something year old mother there (recently widowed in April) and 4 of the 7 grandchildren (and his wife). Took the pontoon boat out in shifts and stayed up til about 10pm. We were supposed to go out on the boat with them on Monday, but he was beat and they went home early (also, didn't have his morphine with him..only Oxycontin which makes him sick to his stomach--so he takes it only when he absolutely has to). We're hopeful for good weather yet this weekend and maybe we can go out then.
The bad news..his wife told me that the cancer has metastasized (sp?) to the liver. She asked me to not tell my husband as her husband (our friend) does not know yet. I am sure she does not really want to ruin the good days he is having. On the bright side, his face is either looking more filled out (like weight gain) or else I've gotten used to seeing him this thin..he is looking some better. His attitude is good, around us anyway. His wife is taking some rather harsh comments from him at times..guess she needs our prayers too. She is about 54 and he will be 60 at the end of December..a young 60, too..at least before all of this. They are great people..have an 8th grandchild due in Feb that they just found out about this weekend.

Mikey fan,
Thanks for the continued prayers. They mean alot. I am so sorry to hear the news of your friend. But he seems to be doing things he loves to do yet. I hope and pray he gets to see that 8th grandbaby. I know it was very hot here in Pa on Saturday so I know Ohio was also. I can imagine your friend being very tired. I will keep his wife in my prayers and hope that she can get through all this ok. I know Dad still has a lil spunk left in him. The other day he said someone could go straight to hell. And I havent heard that from him in a long while. LOL My Daddy just turnt 63 on August 19th. So young. I just found out today that I am going to be a Grandma again in April of next year. I havent had the chance to tell my parents. I hope that we have dad for him to see this one also. And I am praying for a baby girl. We are taking grandson to see his Pop Pop in a few weeks. I will show him a picture and say where is Pop Pop and he will point to my Dad and then give it a kiss. He is a stinker for sure. Well enough rambling from me. Hope everyone else is doing good and is healthy and safe. Keep everyone in your prayers that could be affected by Hurricane Hannah this weekend.

God Bless

I am sorry to hear your friends cancer has metastasized, this is not unusual with this type of cancer. I hope that he finds as much pain free time as he can to be with good people like you and your husband. My aunt who died from the same cancer many years ago did all sorts of "crazy things" like skinny dipping, playing in the sand, dancing in the moonlight. We all thought she was loosing it. After she was gone my mom said my aunt did things she either did not do as a kid or could not remember ever doing. I think I may go for a walk with my girls now.......you just never know.
Blessings and prayers to all.

thanks Katie and sassy...I have been preoccupied with thoughts of my friends these last few days, whenever my brain is not fully engaged in work. I fear the worst..I HOPE this was not our last summer with him because we missed so much of it, as it was.

my advice to anyone....enjoy the good people in your lives and purge your life of as many of the evil people as you can. Life is too short and precious to waste.

Mikey, so true, we just never know. Never fail to tell your loved ones you love them. Everytime I talk with Zane on the phone, we never forget to say I love you before we hang up. FIL is getting weaker and having nausea a lot, but he still came down to our office yesterday, got up on the roof and tried to find a leak. Since he used to own the building we are in, thought he could find it better than someone else. He is my hero!! MS is nothing compared to what he is going thru and he always has such a great attitude.

Mikey, thoughts and prayers to your friends and to you too.

Sassy, thoughts and prayers for your family.

Theo, hope your friend is doing better and I'm cool with Sue spending time at the ranch with Cho Man, just as long as she stops by here for visits. Still have my Cho that comes up every night, he is getting better about us being close to him, so I figure I will have him in my arms before long lol.

Hope everybody has a good weekend, not looking forward to Hannah getting closer, but it is what it is. I may not post much anymore, but I still think of you guys everyday.

Thanks all for the good thoughts and prayers - Phoenix, Mikey fan, katie, sassy, etc.

Wish all of us good luck and good prayers and thoughts.

Went to Cho's grave today. Couldn't find Cho and Sue but figure they were in the trees somewhere. Then, saw a cat who looked just like Cho running around on the property. I about cried.

Friend is starting his fall job this next week so I won't see a lot of him for atleast two months. Friday is my day to call him to check in.

Thanks all!!

Cho and Sue were over here in far Southwest Texas enjoying the warm sunny day. Went for another walk with the girls and there is a lot with a nice palamino gelding and there was a dark orange and white kitty on the fence. Both were enjoying the shade of big mesquite tree. I would like to think that this is how they have spend the day.

Katie, you have made my day, that is just poetic justice for Sue to show up as a gelding, as much as she picked on ours lol. So glad they are enjoying life and that good people are watching out for them. Just think I may need her here with me a little more in the next few months. Next time you see them, say hello for me.

Thanks Theo, my Cho Man was laying on the patio last night, so I guess he has decided to stay, gonna fix him a nice bed in the garage for tonight, cause it looks like Hannah is moving farther inland.
Makes you feel good when you catch thoses glimpses of them doesn't it.
Take care!!

Raining here today and roomie is working at the neighbors'(ones' with horse arena). If Sue and Cho are here - they are in there. Glad that your little Cho Man has a good spot for the night.

This young horse was hooded so I could not see his eyes. But it seemed he and the cat were old friends and seemed to be used to each other.

Almost time for a walk, I will look for them again tonight. With all the rain we have had the grass is green and tall. Good grazing.

Have a declaration to make!! from this day forward, we are moving everything about our family and friends over here!! They are much more important than those 2 silver spoons getting married. That way we can talk about them over all we want to, but have the respect for what matters most over here.

Not sure if I need a box of tissues or the baton today.

Take both. A box of tissues is always good. Woke up bitchy this morning but you keep the baton - I'm coping. Take care!

Hey gang,
Just wanted to stop in and say Hi and hope everyone is doing ok. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone.
Well, I got a call today from my Mom..... Dad was at Dr today and he didnt have good news for him at all. Sorry if my typing is crazy trying not to cry. But Dr told Daddy he has 4 to 6 weeks left.:*(
Mom talked to Dad and he is going to try the dyalisis(spelling) they dont know if it will buy him sometime or not but he is willing to try. So please keep Mom and Dad in your thoughts and prayers. I dont care about me just them. And my boys.
I am going to try and get sometime off so I can go and spend a few weeks with them and try to help Mom with Daddy.
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone and hope everyone who is in the path of Ike is ok and comes through ok.

God Bless Hugs to all.
