It was mentioned on Jayski that rumors are circulating about Elliott moving to the #7 car for RCR. Have any of you heard of this. Would be a great change for him and maybe boost his chances in Cup.

Doesn't he have a contract through 2010? You know, the SAME contract he used in a lawsuit to get his job back in Jan. If he breaks this contract (which would make it the THIRD contract he would have broken in less than 10 years) Sadler could become the most hypocritical face in NA$CAR and a cancer on a race team.

That must be one of the biggest compliments I have ever seen. Elliott is the most powerful person in NASCAR. Only he can understand contracts and use them to his favor, all other drivers & owners are powerless befor him.

With his career record, he might be the most powerful in terms of on track productivity verses headaches for owners. Very few have done so little and still maintained rides. Sadler's hypocrisy is far reaching.

I thought that his contract ended in 2010, not through 2010.

You want to see hypocrisy, look at the fans of NASCAR or any sport.

Moving around is part of the sport, I mean Hendrick moved Vickers, Busch, Mears around all within 5 or so years. Look at Bowyer this year. He lost crew, CC, car, sponsor and his points. Yates and Rudd etc, etc.

IMO if Elliott leaves after this year it will because they both agree on it (Elliott & RPM). Contracts go both ways.

Of course RPM will let him go. Hell, they wanted him out 10 months ago! The fact is , the Sadler only wants to lean on a contract when it benefits himself, and his history shows that.

That is why you sign contracts, business 101. It's not that hard to understand.

And Ethics 101 says one should uphold a contract, its not that hard to understand.

Leaving is upholding the contract, unless Elliott signed that all by himself. I think it was a lack of ethical behavior that got RPM in trouble over the winter. Reasons for termination or reasons for getting out of the contract are agreed upon by both parties.

Yes it was unethical by RPM and that very reason is why Elliott is driving for them right now. The fact remains though that this will be the 3rd contract extension the Elliott has not lived up to. Not a good track record, both on and off the track.

Your spin on this is pretty amazing though, yet typical.

No spin, I just know that the employee has the right to exercise any option in their contract just like the employer does. Any other view of it is taking it way to personal for me.

As I mentioned in my initial post that it was a rumor and nothing more- posted by JAYSKI. He hears and tells all. I did enjoy the lessons on contract law from E. Perkins and William K. Very lively and most informative. Elliott is a big hunter and so is Richard. It may only be speculation but we all have to admit that the Petty Enterprise is going nowhere. Two cars would be better for them and if I was Elliott (contract signing or not) I would want to make a change.

Usually there are 3 sides to every story. Driver, owner and the truth. I bet the stories each party could tell are endless.

SADler used the same lines before he bolted from RYR. He cannot be trusted when it comes to his desire to leave or stay with his race team.

http://www.sirius-speedway.com/2009/08/sadler...

Elliott Sadler is downplaying a published report that he will jump from Richard Petty Motorsports to Richard Childress Racing next season, replacing Casey Mears in the #07 Chevrolet.

FOXSports.com s Lee Spencer reported this week that Sadler could move to RCR next season, with part-time sponsorship from Jack Daniels. Sadler declined to comment specifically on the story today, saying simply,I am committed to my race team, and have a contract through the end of the 2010 season.

While Childress and the Emporia, Va., driver do speak from time to time, its generally about hunting, not racing. And well-placed sources at sources at RCR tell Sirius Speedway that there have been no talks about bringing Sadler to the team in 2010.

I'd love to see Sadler in RCR equipment. I do predict he'd be out at RPM at the end of the year, as i think he would've been fine with leaving RPM after last season, but they did it so late in the season, and no rides were open. I predicted he'd end up at maybe Penske, but RCR seems like a good fit. He's definitely a better option than Casey Mears, and has won more races and made the Chase for the Cup, and he's better pitch/sponsor guy as i hear that Best Buy threatened to bolt if Sadler was let go. If Sadler gets a better offer i think he'll chose to leave, but he has his ride at least till next season and i agree, i remember when Sadler was swearing up and down he wasn't looking for an out at Yates and that he was happy where he was and the rumors turned to be true. I like Sadler, but i really thought it was more likely McMurray or Bobby Labonte was likely to end up at RCR but i think definitely Mears will be out and possibly Harvick could be as well.

Is there really much a difference between Sadler and Mears? If there is, it is minimal. Is there really much a difference between RCR and RPM equipment? If there is, it is minimal.

When it comes to sponsorship, I am not sure I will buy into that Best Buy was going to leave if Sadler was cut, as they seem VERY satisfied having their logo on the 44 many times this summer.

It does look like Harvick is out of RCR by years end too.

as pointed out...sadler has made the chase, and had more wins in his career (no he aint tony or jeff or jimmy with lots of wins...) but he had more wins than casey and seems to be more sponsor friendly....so it may be a good fit at rcr...
i like casey but i am not so sure he's been any better at rcr (as was hoped) when he left ganassi.

I would say best buy would (or any sponsor) love to have their logo on more than one car, espcially if it didn't cost them anything extra. I would guess RPM did that to smooth things over, toss them a bone so to speak.

Harvick has wanted out for a couple of years now. Rumors are also still flying about the 2 car and Kurt Busch. Vickers situation is weird as well. It's also one of those either he is or the team is not being honest with us.

As for RCR and RPM, IMO there is a difference in equipment. However, just look at the 07 car, same equipment & crew just a different driver and it went from Chase car to where it is now. That was all Clint's fault but he made the most of it and drove his car to where it is now.
