Elliott became my favorite because he seemed to have the determination it takes to succeed in NASCAR, but now he seems to not care. Quite frankly I'm sick of his excuses and I don't buy into the "Dodges suck" deal either. Maybe they do but there are guys who get crappy cars and they seem to make it work for them whereas Elliott just limps around the track in the back over an over again.
Some times I wonder if his excuses, seemingly "don't care" attitude, and always finding something to do away from the nascar scene is a cover up for his being disappointed and embarrassed on how the 19 team is going (an act or cover up).
We all can surely admitt that it is TUFF when things just keep going wrong (little things, big things, stupid things, mechanical things, family things, etc) can all string together for quiet a while sometimes.
OR maybe I'm just being a Polly Anna (okay, I can't spell that name). But I have a habbit of rooting for the underdog.

I see your point about him being embarrassed but still, wouldn't that make someone try harder? It's like hitting the repeat button week after week with Elliott. When his crew chief(s) try to do their job and get him running right/better, Elliott gets really indignant-- wants it his way. Every now and then Elliott's easy to get along with but those crew chiefs really have their hands full with him. I don't know what it's going to take to make him head in the right direction. Wish I had a magic wan, lol.

Good point. I'll start looking for a magic wand here. You look around there. lol
I LOVE to see him win this weekend. Just to shake things up. That would cheese off the commentators. The only people they know are even ON the track is the top 12.
Instead of 'chase season' we call it the 'boring season' lol

I seem to be leaving letters off when I'm typing. Guess that's what happens when you're sneaking on the internet as soon as the boss walks out, lol.
Well, we better find us a couple of heavy duty magic wands cause Elliott was the caboose during the 1st practice. Not that I take practices to heart because that's when teams are trying to figure out the car and all, but as far as Ell goes--it's par for the course anymore.

I wonder if Elliott reads this. He made a good comeback on Sunday with a top 10 finish. I thought it was looking bleak for him for awhile there. If he could keep this up, I just might favor him again but until then I'm remaining skeptical. Hope the weather holds up for Dover this weekend. Found out that my boyfriend got us a spot in the infield and is using his dad's motorcoach--which is utterly gorgeous--and he has a big surprise for me. Wish he'd give me a clue cause I love surprises but hate them too--especially when I'm the one on the recieving end, lol. I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

All I could find was the little wand. But it did get him a #8 finish. That's not too bad.
Your boyfriend sounds like a 'keeper'. Anyone who can get you to the infield at a nascar event is doing it right!
Let me know what the surprise was. Hopefully it wont be that YOU were gonna have to pay. LOL!
Have enough fun for all of us.

My boyfriend makes twice the money I do so he would be in huge trouble if I had to pay, lol. I promised to do the cooking as it is--which is a good thing because my guy could mess up a TV dinner! LMAO! He's my high school sweetie and has always treated me wonderful, so I have no complaints. I promise to let you know what my surprise is.
Let's break out the magic wands more often-- they seemed to have helped! Elliott even sounded kind of happier than he usually does on the radio too. Sounds like Wally doesn't take any of Ell's stuff, lol.

Carly,
Here are the quotes:

SADLER QUOTES
SADLER ON DOVER:Dover is a pretty good race track for us usually. We normally qualify really well there. But, Dover can just jump up and get you sometimes. Ive had a couple run-ins with the Monster and hes won his fair share. Maybe this time Ill drop off an Ipod from Best Buy at its feet with some calm music and try to put the beast to sleep for a couple days.

SADLER ON EIGHTH-PLACE FINISH AT NEW HAMPSHIRE:We all try to do our best each and every week. Itd been a while since the No. 19 team recorded a top-10, so it was really great to see the guys smiling after a good, solid race. We have nine more weeks to try and learn as much as we can about each other as a team and get this No. 19 Dodge headed in the right direction for the folks at Best Buy and Stanley. We want to do everything we can to build momentum the rest of this year and learn as much as we can to give us a leg up going into 2010.

Carly,
I'm sorry. I was using my wand so much to keep it from raining, that I forgot to use it on ES so he could have a good finish...Doh!
Hope you had fun anyway.

Okay Okay... I can't stand it. WHAT WAS THE SURPRISE...if you say it in public. lol

I'm getting married!! My honey proposed to me in true redneck style, lol. He did it Saturday evening over a romantic dinner, well, steaks that he grilled but they were delicious! The rain was horrible but shoot-- there could've been a blizzard and I wouldn't have noticed. There's no bad weather on cloud 9 lol. We want to have the wedding in late April.
How about Joey's wreck? Good gracious we were so close to it. It sounded like bombs going on! I was so relieved to see him put his window net down and get out of that car. He was kind of wobbly at first but that's it.
Andretti goes and wrecks Elliott! Elliott wasn't running all that great but it did look like he was making some progress before that happened. His car sure was neat looking.
Sucks that Johnson won. I'm not a fan of his. I was hoping Ryan Newman could've pulled it off.
I hope everyone had a really nice weekend. I did =D

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Wow, what a great guy. My hubby never did actually ask me. We went shopping 4 father's day gift for HIS dad and saw a going out of business jewlery sale. I joked "Those are nice, we should put them on lay-a-way. Ha ha". He said 'okay, probably need 'em some day." With all the warmth of buying a baked ham.
On the race. Joey said you can't go on a rollercoaster that was as bad a ride as that. TV showed his dad running to the infield care unit...oh the look on his face! Joey said he was "sore" but I bet he can't hardly move today.
I'm not a JJ fan either. I don't usually root for any one driver, but, I'd like to see Mark Martin with this championship.
Brett (19 spotter) on twitter said: "Trying to win the race from 5 laps down, he wrecks us. Genius" at least they got him back on the track to keep up his "no DNF" streak alive.(That seems to be all ES has going for him right now...race wise that is.)
Again, Carly, I'm SO happy for you!!

Your proposal almost sounds like my sister's did. LMAO! My BIL handed her the circular from a jewelery store and told her to go pick out what she wanted-- as long as it wasn't anymore than $599. I would've shoved that circular up his ass, lol.
I saw Joey's dad running and he looked so scared-- rightfully so. Everyone around else got really quiet. In fact it seemed like everyone in the stands did too until Joey got out.
I need to join this Twitter. I read stuff on there every once in awhile but keeping up with anything but work is hard. This last wreck wasn't Elliott's fault so it's hard to get angry about it. If he had been running better and not towards the back where he was, he wouldn't of been caught in that. Elliott did look completely pissed off.
Maybe it's me but the races don't seem as exciting as they use to before the COTs. I'm glad that they're safer but they've taken some of the fun out of this sport.
Thanks again Jax! You'll have to come to my wedding =D

Carly,
Thanks 4 the invitation. If I had the $, I would be there!!
I'd be the REAL red-neck!! Yelling "YOU GO GIRL!"
right in the middle of everything..LOL
(pause for you to praise the Good Lord that we don't have that much money at the moment).

And I agree with you on the COT watering it down a bit. I think it has to do with the same few winning and "less $= less #1's"

Maybe WHEN the economy pick up...if he hangs in there long enough (big IF) ES may actually win one....

Okay, I admitt it...I'm an optimist.
Well, a girl can dream. LOL

Let me know when the Wedding is and I'll try to throw the rice from here. ;D

As soon as we decide and agree on a date I'll let you know. Let me tell you-- our wedding will be simple and we'll follow all of the redneck guidelines lol. My parents own a horse farm so we'll get married on their property-- very casual but it'll be very fun! Instead of rice you can throw some oats but I don't know if they'll make it all the way from Ga. If the oats do--you need to be making more money playing for a pro baseball team lol.
It's getting to the point where we enjoy watching the Nationwide races more than Cup. It's way more exciting and it's not always the same people winning a race.
