FONTANA, Calif. - Jamie McMurray has just missed the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship several times, including an oh-so-close 14th-place finish this season.

well,,, since the chasers do not qualify back to back and the track got so much quicker as qualifying went on... as usual.. this is again no surprise.. the other thing that is no surprise is that most of the teams focused only on qualifying... not Tony as usual.. he likes to practice race trim until the very end of practice...
now... they say that pit selection is not paramount at this track... so I think Tony knows what he is doing... but it is going to be interesting because a lot of the guys who did qualify quick are not usually competitive in race trim and so will fall back quickly.
